Thoughts on Disney All Star Movies resort?

We have never stayed at a Disney hotel before. I made reservations at Disney All Star Movies. Any thoughts on the place? I know they sadly don't have room service, but you can order in pizza. Is it any good?

Stayed here many times. Nice that it's in the middle of the All Stars cause you can get lucky and catch a Sports or Movies bus and walk back to your room (depending on which building it's in). It also has a nice little fountain that the other two don't have.

Music's food court is undergoing construction right now...you'll be able to use the other All Star's food courts, and they'll have quick eats set up in the arcade...but doesn't sound like the best of times, you know what I mean?

I've had the food court pizza, which I assume is the same as the ones they deliver to the rooms. It was ok. Nothing special, but then again, most Disney pizza is nothing special.

Edit: I could've sworn this said Music. Which it now doesn't. Ignore this post then. But Movies is great :) Fun theme and it's the newest of the All Stars.

We stayed there in 06. I found nothing wrong with ASM. It is pretty much as advertised. The food court was fine. The bus ride to and from MK takes quite a while since the resort is at the very south end of the Disney property.

Of all the All-Star resorts, I prefer movies mainly because of the theme. The hotel is definitely fun with all of the big sculptures around the resort. Be sure to take some time to walk around as they all make great photo ops! The room is pretty basic but will serve for what you need it for. It contains a small in-room fridge that you can use to store some small items while you're in the room. Food court has a pretty good selection of items. It can get crowded during peak times of the day (mainly breakfast) if you're there during a busy time of the year so try and plan accordingly. Bus ride to MK is a little longer because you're on the opposite end of property but the rides to Studios and Animal Kingdom are fairly short. Epcot's ride is somewhere in the middle of the two.

Hope that helps! Have a great trip!

Movies is the best of the three All Stars. I enjoyed my one night stay there last July. We really loved the themes and the food court had a variety of selections. The rooms appeared to be kept up nicely over time as well. The distance from MK didn't matter to us at all. The benefit of the cost outweighed the inconveniences.

Oh good to know! We are planning on taking the bus to the park, so I am wondering how long it will take to get there if we catch the first bus at 8am.

We stayed here 12 years ago and liked it. The buses were great but at night were very crowded when the park closed. We never had a problem getting to any of the parks before opening when we stayed. I actually booked it for our trip next year in August. Hoping for Toy Story section as my daughter loves those movies and would love the rooms and everything!!
