I’m curious to see what the general consensus on the whole Cars land/attractions is now that the dust has settled some.

Also, all votes are anonymous… so don’t worry about possible backlash for choosing what you chose.

Also, I couldn’t obviously include all views into the poll, but tried to include quite a few!

I had to vote fine - not worthy. It feels uninspired and Cars is one of the least interesting Pixar properties in my opinion, but I guess at least it's not the Incredibles. (Yes, I know I'm in the minority in my opinion of the Incredibles.) I like RoA and TSI but have not actually spent any time on or around either of them in forever. We all keep wanting Disney to build new things and when they do a large segment of us hate anything they do. I get that we're losing something to gain something instead of getting something completely new (though much different than something as simple as Maelstrom -> Frozen) but as much land as they own in WDW, it's not all fit for expansion and I like that they keep some amount of it free of development for the sake of nature and to keep WDW from feeling cramped or over-developed (which is a sentiment that also applies to RoA and TSI). And I really prefer they beef up the existing parks rather than jumping to a 5th gate, though if any WDW park is least in need of beefing up, it's MK.

I'll be in MK next Tuesday and I will probably make some time for TSI and take a trip on the Liberty Belle. That I have to be prompted to do so by news of their inevitable demise says something, though.

Bad move. Yes Dis needs to continually update and change to improve what guests receieve for their money. Change also brings back prior guests who will come back after doing everything multiple times and are looking for something original. But change and improvement doesnt mean trashing what elements of the park are beloved by many and seen as enjoyable parts of their park day. They have other options available to them without destroying things that make MK what it is. .

Everyone in the TWDC that’s behind this needs to be sent to a place where all they do, for the entire day, is throw big rocks over an 8’ tall wall, and then they herd them to the other side to throw them right back over again.
Rinse, and repeat………..

I don't personally care about Tom Sawyer Island but the riverboat bought such vibes to the area and that will be missed. There's so much space that it does seem dumb to remove anything.

Sentimentally my favorite land is Frontierland. It is a throwback, always seems to be the place where you slow down a bit and chill. The river was part of that. Having a throw back land like this is the point though. None of us were alive for this era of our lives and that is what makes it intriguing. The sad thing is, if they go through with this which I am guessing they do, is that it completely transforms what we used to know as Frontierland.

Very interesting to see the vote shift, from originally very positive view, then to slightly negative view, then a mostly positive view, and now a more negative overall view.

As for me, my family started making a point to visit CBJ, TSI, and the riverboat after the redhead scene at PotC. Can’t say I really ever visited TSI much (is kind of a pain to wait for a boat to get there and back), but I know I would have enjoyed it so much more if I visited while younger. The caves, uneven trails, and water features were all pretty beautiful. Very similar to Typhoon Lagoon in that sense to me.

It’s sad to see it leave because it was a hidden gem in a way, but with all the staffing and maintenance costs along with the low visitation (especially amongst the “desirable” guests), I can easily see how it’s likely a “smart” move from a spreadsheet/business perspective.

I think a great compromise would have been to keep at the very least a small stretch of water from TBA to HM, to keep the overall feel of the land, but if this is done well, this could look great and really blend the land together into a giant western area. Sadly, it probably won’t be done great, but there’s potential to at the very least not detract from the overall feel of the land.

Overall, I also hope the removal of the river/water area is because the Villians area is going to be absolutely ginormous (though I know this likely won’t be the case). Not to worked up about the removal, but I hope it they execute this land well enough that it could add to the lands overall immersion (if not at the very least break even/not detract).

I voted horrible for how the whole thing is being done. There is a way that even with cars in the middle of Frontierland I would be fine with - but not like this. And even then it’s a stretch and not appealing to me.

Lest you think I don’t like change - I’m looking forward to the Encanto ride at DAK - that’s the most appealing announcement to me!

Its a shame to lose liberty bell, i didnt care much for TSI, but my wife and i really enjoyed the calmness of ROA on L.B, esp after the heat of liberty square in the hot spring/summer months, its also a shame to lose something so unique, the R.O.A can actually cool an area down slightly ,Cars is a silly idea, but again this obsessed with I.P leadership team, just doesn't get what what M.K is, it's magical! , to relive the past, yes change may be needed, id be looking at the SFR tree for starters, The leadership team should ask imaginers what they can come up with non I.P, i bet they'd knock it out the park, if given the opportunity, And how you go from fantasy land with the younger audience, to villains land is also a bit strange, i think Monsters inc has the best idea over in H.S, i do worry about the audience at D23 , they seem to whoop and holla on ever word Mr D'Amaro says. now the dust has settled, i think a lot of Disney fans are scratching there heads, me included 🫡
