Thoughts on After Hours Villains

Just attended this event this past Monday and, overall, it was a lot of fun. It’s obviously not inexpensive, but if you’re able and willing to spend the money, you are almost guaranteed to be able to ride everything in the park. The only real issue I noticed was they let the regular park-goers get in line for attractions right up until the minute the park “closes” and the party begins. As a result, Space Mountain, for example, had about an 80 minute wait right at 10pm. As the night went on, though, that wait time dropped significantly. Anyway, here’s a breakdown of approximately how long the wait was for each attraction (when we saw it):

Space Mountain: 35 minutes
Mine Train: 20 minutes
People Mover: walk on
Buzz Lighthear: walk on
Speedway: 10 minutes
Winnie the Pooh: walk on
Peter Pan: walk on
Small World: walk on
POTC: walk on
Haunted Mansion: walk on
Thunder Mountain: walk on
Splash Mountain: walk on

If anyone else decides to attend this event, I hope you have as much fun as we did!

That's just normal park policy -- letting people in line as long as the park hasn't closed yet. And obviously you're not going to kick people out of line once they've gotten in. You should just know the avoid the rides that have built up lines early on and enjoy the stuff that's going to be a walk-on first. Disney is probably one of the only chains that keeps everything up when it has early entry or hard ticket events. Most parks only 2-4 rides open, and they're usually just the really popular ones. The idea being that people go to the popular ones anyways, leaving the less popular ones abandoned. Its impressive that Disney keeps everything open despite nobody really riding about half of them.

We are actually doing this while we are there. We have done the Christmas party, so the fact this was available during our trip- made it worth it for us.

We were there on Monday as well. The lines were a little longer than I thought they would be. But that stage show though!!!

ALL of the after hour events are worth it just to see people without wristbands get denied entry to attractions. It’s the only time cast members claws come out and personally I think they enjoy telling the cheapskates they can’t do anything.
