Man, we really are starting to get the shaft at WDW. I know all about the Marvel deal with Universal and the Mississippi, but I am beginning to get seriously jealous of our California brethren!

In celebration of “Thor: The Dark World” coming to theaters November 8, guests at Disneyland park will be able to visit Asgard this fall and come face-to-face with the Mighty Avenger, Thor. This summer at Disneyland park, Iron Man Tech Presented by Stark Industries has given us a close-up look at Tony Stark’s Hall of Armor and an opportunity to virtually “suit up” in the Mark 42 armor featured in the blockbuster film, “Iron Man 3.” And we’ve recently learned Captain America will be appearing at Avengers Academy on the reimagined Disney Magic. Soon, we’ll have a chance to meet yet another super hero.

EDIT: I realize that this post is in the wrong place, but I wanted people who go to WDW to actually see it!

No Thor in Norway = FAIL

Sarcasm? I would hope.

Before anyone makes a stink, let's just get it out there: the Marvel contract with Universal Studios prevents virtually any Marvel attractions (including character M&G) from appearing in a competing park East of the Mississippi (e.g. at WDW). Thor, as a member of the Avengers, is absolutely covered by that agreement and would not be able to appear in Norway/Epcot or anywhere else in a WDW park.

No but they may be able to do character dining in a resort or DTD...

The east of the Mississippi thing has been bandied about a lot over the last several years and it sounds like something out of a 19th century hand shake deal. Plus, the definition is very geographically vague. How far east of the Mississippi? Since the earth is very spherical in shape, isn't everything and nothing east of the Mississippi?

One Little Spark...
Or just re-name some little creek that is east of WDW the Mississippi.
There's already the "little Mississippi" in Magic Kingdom.

If you plum off of this line, you can use Marvel Characters in Animal Kingdom, but not in EPCOT or HS.

Man Thing or Groot anyone?

Yep. I've said that before as well. The contract seems to allow for Marvel presence in certain other capacities, if it is not in a theme park. A character meal in DTD or one of the hotels would seem to be allowed by the contract from what I can tell. I wouldn't be surprised to see that happen at some point, at least as part of movie promotions.
