I know that there are some fellow Penn Staters out there who know exactly what I'm talking about!
For everyone else.....
This weekend is the Penn State IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon. This is a 46 hour dance marathon that raises money for children with cancer. The funds raised support the Four Diamonds fund at Penn State Hershey hospital. The organization supports families while their children are undergoing testing/treatment of various forms of cancer. In the past 34 years THON has helped to raise over $41 million dollars, and it continues to be the largest student run philanthropy in the world!:sohappy: The money raised supports research, therapy (such as music therapy), and helps to support the every day needs of the family (groceries, heat, gas, etc)
If you get a chance sometime this weekend check out www.thon.org It is an amazing thing to witness. There should be frequent updates this weekend as well as possibly live web cams.
I was a dancer in 2002.....it was the hardest thing that I have ever done but definetly very much worth it.
No sitting! No sleeping! FOR THE KIDS!!! Together we will find a cure!
Good Luck to all involved in THON!! and for the Children and their familes.....hang in there
