For UK visitors...I see Thomas Cook are following Virgin next year and flying into MCO instead of Sanford..I've read that MCO can be hectic compared to little Sanford..Has anyone done both airports.? And how did you compare them..

Welcome to MCO airport..Where the local time is 14.40 and the outside temperature is 30 degrees.On behalf of Captain Hatter and the rest of my crew,we hope you enjoyed your flight and have a safe journey onwards,and hope to see you on your return journey home..Have a magical vacation...Zzzzzzzzzzz.
We have done both and MCO is definately bigger but isn't really any more crowded.When 4-500 people get off a jet then it gets crazy no matter the airport.MCO is way better for the hirecars/check in etc and is WAY closer to the magic .

Only done MCO - never wanted to travel from Sanford! Don't know why. May be its because we get transfers on the Magical Express! MCO not really crowded - rather be there than Gatwick or Manchester.

We have done both and there are big differences.
Sandford felt like a sleepy UK Regional Airport as there wasn't a great deal to do and the queues were really short, it was also much more relaxed. I'll never forget boarding the flight as they were closing up all the shops and restaurants behind us - it was only around 8pm!
The downsize with Sandford is it's a long way from WDW (up to an hour) but given a choice between here and MCO I will always go with where I can't get the best air fare.
