This year, Bill & Ted will be rocking out to the sounds of...

Huh? Can you explain? Not disagreeing necessarily, just not sure what you mean. Is that the premise of the plot? Or the soundtrack?

I'm pretty sure 99% of HHN fans are in agreement that last year's show was horrid, so I'm not expecting much from this one since they (inexplicably) retained the same writer/director. I'd be pleasantly surprised if it's even decent.

99% is insane hyperbole. I thought it was the best in 3 years, at least, and know many long-time fans who agreed. That final show was packed.

As for the plot, it's never been anything other than a thin excuse to hang jokes off of. The Voice is a bit uninspired, but if the jokes hit, I imagine it will work.

Hyperbole? Maybe, but we obviously run in different circles, because I don't know a single person who thought it was a good show. And many were at that final show, because they always are. It's more of a tradition than an indication of how much they liked it.

The negative reaction was so strong that they brought in a former writer for the show to help out this year. Whether or not it actually helps remains to be seen.

Agreed with you, verily. Everyone I've spoken with hated the show. My general public friends, some of which have been attending since 2007 and earlier, said it was the worst they'd ever seen. The fact that one of its best bits (the Presidential rap-off) got censored halfway through was just insult to injury.

I can also vouch for the former writer being brought on this year... it could help, but the way in which Bill & Ted is written these days will probably prevent his contributions from making the show much funnier. This "Voice" bit sounds meh, but NBCUNiversal synergy has worked for the plots before (see 2008's Hellboy II or 2009's Land of the Lost).

I thought I was the only one disappointed by last year's B&T. I had brought friends who were seeing HHN for the first time, so I downplayed it as "yeah, that wasn't quite as funny as last year," but I was really disappointed.

This rumor is floating around, so I'll put it out there - we'll know by this evening after the employee preview - apparently Taylor Swift will be the villain this year, with Selena Gomez, Vanessa Hudgens, and Miley Cyrus will be her lackeys. Somehow, this doesn't sound completely terrible.

Very 2007. It was an abrupt shift from IP characters to real-life celebrities that year, and not my favorite ever, but I admit the idea of Taylor Swift sounds promising. And hard to screw up a Miley joke right now.

I saw the show last night.... Gotta say it's not that bad. Def an improvement over last years, but that ain't saying much.

So it might improve some since that was the preview.

I saw it tonight. My info seemed to be correct... there was a view segment in the show, but not nearly as much as I thought there would be. That segment also seemed to be the weakest part in the show, IMHO. Overall, I really did enjoy it. Can't wait to see it again!

Saw the show, voice segment was maybe a minute long. The digs at Disney (build times) are pretty direct, if you told me they were reading the spirited thread, I'd believe it. The show I was at I could have sword John Landis was in the audience for.

Yeah, Avatar jokes almost seemed to sail over most of the audience's head (which probably proves how bad an idea Pandora truly is).

Like 2012, everything moves fairly quick, so the weaker spots (Les Miz and Kanye/wife for me) are over before they become truly annoying. I liked the addition of more dancers, and thought many more jokes hit than missed.

He was at the park all last night, so quite possible.
