"This One Can Hardly Contain Himself."

When I was younger I remember the Haunted Mansion's script being a little different. When you enter the scene were the guy is trying to break out of the coffin and the hall of doors it used to say:

"All our guests have been dying to meet you. This one can hardly contain himself. Unfortunately, they all seem to have trouble getting through. Perhaps Madame Leota can establish contact, she has a remarkable head for materializing the disembodied"

I know they took it out for awhile, but then it came back around '95 I think. It is now gone again. For awhile I thought there was something with the audio, but then I remembered that it was taken out and put back in the past. As far as I know DLR still has this line in theirs.

Does anyone know the reasoning behind this?

from what I understand, that line (while obviously recorded) was not played in the buggies when the Disneyland version premiered. After the line, "Shh, listen," the story was to be eerily told by sounds - i.e. "let me outta here!"...screams...etc. until Madame Leota's seance. WDI recently took the dialog out to bring back the scenes back to their original intents.

yeah i'm pretty sure i heard this in july when i went. its prolly back now the audio i think has to be re-mastered because at some times you hear static in the buggies so idk. thats prolly on their to do list

that MAY be in the works, depending on who is in charge of the HM refurb. I can tell you that the line was also removed from Disneyland.... so chances are probably slim....

It's not back now. It's still like that. I doubt it will actually come back.

When is HM scheduled for refurb? When we were there last week, the audio kept skipping in and out. We could hear it from others' doom buggys but it wasn't coming out of ours. Others who went on the ride said the same thing too, so we know it wasn't just our Doom Buggy.

And BTW, I absolutly can't wait for enchanted to come out either!

I've been visiting WDW's HM since 1973, and can definately attest that those particular lines of Ghost Host dialogue have never been heard in the ride. In fact DL's version never had them until a refurb in the mid-90's I believe. From what I've heard, the DL version has since removed them once again as apparently no one in the ''higher echelon'' ever actually gave an OK to reinstituting them during that refurb...

I've been on HM many times on thirteen visits between 1987 and 2004. I've never heard this line on the ride. But I like it
