We got the SQUEAL of a lifetime today when we found out my daughter got accepted into the college program on her first try. She's working in merchandising, and starts in March- and goes through July-so look for her ok?

Now- since I will be visiting often.... I am wondering if I should get the AP? We will be going often and I have two other kids that are frequent Disney visitors.... so we are very comfortable with the parks, etc. Does the AP give me enough discounts to make it worth it? What is your break even point for these tickets? We will most likely be going down and staying for 1-2 days at a time.... except the first time- we might stay for a few days. We have been a million times and never had an AP.... now I am starting to research it... thanks for the tips...

It is hard to say the break even point since it depends on the AP. Overall I think it would be worth it due to offers on resorts, discount on merchandise and no need for tickets etc. However, with your daughter doing the DCP i'd say wait on it. Why? She can book resort reservations for herself and family at a significantly reduced amount (more than AP discount) and she will have a limited amount of tickets to give out after she works a certain amount.

However, given the size of your family, the CM tickets probably won't be enough so you will need extra tickets. Plan your first visit, buy extra tickets as needed and then you can upgrade to an AP if you find that its worth it. If you plan on visiting often, it might as well make sense to get an AP.

Congrats to your daughter!

I would say an AP is the way to go for sure. Your park visiting patterns will likely be different than a traditional vacation, with you dipping in and out of the parks on your visits. It is a lot easier to do that when you are not worried about using up days on a tickets and it gives you ultimate flexibility.

I would not buy one for discounts however. Of course that all depends on how much you spend, but 10% discounts isn't going to make a huge difference for most.
