Think twice before booking Disneyland Hotel

Just a word of warning to any considering a stay at the Disneyland Hotel. We just returned from a 4 night stay there and sadly have no good memories of the hotel other than leaving.

We booked a "premium preferred view" room which ended up being a bit over $300 a night... So we were expecting a decent view. Instead we got the 2nd floor of the tower closed to DTD where we were able to see some palm trees and nothing else... not really what one would consider a "premium view". Next little fun item was the laundry, all the Disney material we saw prior to the trip stated that laundry facilities were on premises so for our trip we packed lighter than usual with the expectation of being able to wash some clothes there, on realizing that there was no such facilities in out tower we called the front desk to see where they were located... In Paradise Pier or the Californian, so feel free to lug your clothes a couple of block to wash (would have had better access at a Motel 6)... Oh, did I mention the pools? No water slide due to construction just feel free to wander over to another hotel and use theirs (remember that it gets a bit chilly in the evening so if you have kids be ready to have them get sick).... Oh and be careful when you take a shower, when they removed the fire extinguishers from the ceiling they didn't bother to remove the copper pipes sicking out of the ceiling, I managed to cut my hand on the stub of it when made the fatal mistake of raising my hand above my head in the shower.

In all our experience was way below what we expected. The hotel charges the prices of a deluxe resort at Disneyworld but provides service and value somewhere between the Disneyworld value resorts and moderate resorts... So think twice before you make decision you will likely regret.

Oh did I forget to mention the sounds of jackhammers constantly throughout the day? be ready for them, they give you the feeling of being near a construction site in New York City all day long.
