Pre-Trip There Really are Disney-Holics like me out there!!! (1st PTR)

Hi Everyone! I've noticed (and been totally elated) that there are people actually sharing their pre-trip plans on here and decided I wanted to give it a whirl myself! I REALLY hope you will join in with me (and even share some tips & knowledge).

First, a little about myself. My name is Brittany and the last time i was at Disney World was February 2011 for our honeymoon. My husband, Jerry decided to surprise me with the trip after a devastating year. BEST SURPRISE EVER! Our only "children" are our two Chihuahua"s, Kalie & Ellie. LITERALLY...they're our babies.

I'm sure you're wondering about the devastating part of the above paragraph so here's the short version. Jerry & I were engaged 6 months after meeting. We were originally set for a November 2010 wedding but right in the middle of planning, my sweet Mother was murdered by her estranged husband. After developing pretty severe anxiety, we postponed the nuptials. The day of the would be wedding approaches and we decided we just wanted to be married. After a long talk, we set another date of February 18, 2011 and arranged for a VERY small ceremony and even opted out of a reception. We just went to a celebratory dinner and game night at our house with some family & friends. Better than I ever imagined. My father later gave me a card and enclosed was a 3 day parkhopper. Turns out Jerry had been planning the surprise honeymoon with my dad and older sister. I couldn't even sleep that night i was so excited. Like I said...BEST TRIP EVER!

Unfortunately, we haven't been able to make it back since. We've had a couple of attempts but nothing has panned out. WELL...2 days ago, we decided to just buckle down and book a trip. I've always wanted to see Disney World at Christmas so drumroll please...We will be at the kingdom November 30-December 4, 2014!

Don't have alot of plans as of yet, but tomorrow I will share what I do have!

HAPPY SHARING!

So, we couldn't swing a Disney hotel this time around so this is where we are planning to call home for 5 days.

We are going to stay at the Hampton Inn in Buena Vista which is good for it's close to Downtown Disney. I'm also pretty happy that they offer FREE hot breakfast here complete with these...

We plan to drive which will take roughly 8 hours from Atlanta so we're pretty confident it will be evening before we get into Orlando and get checked in at the hotel. We want to grab dinner at either Rainforest Cafe or Planet Hollywood. (Which one would you prefer?) After dinner, I'm pretty sure we want to do Disney Quest...just to get our small Disney fix before our big 1st day!

Thank you so much! I literally am fluttering around just being excited to plan everything! Although my DH loves Disney as much as I do, the planning phase of it all...not so much so i'm so excited that there is a forum out there that allows me to share in my excitement as well as let's me share in the excitement of others!

Hey Everyone! First, I want to say thank you for all of your condolences as well as well wishes. It's been a tough 3 years but my DH has been my rock and has helped me with a lot. Believe me when I say he has been my angel through all of it.

Okay...now to the fun stuff:
After doing some planning and conversing with the DH...we have a rough draft of our arrival day plans.

ARRIVAL DAY:

  • We are going to leave Atlanta between 6 or 7AM. With only a couple of stops, we SHOULD arrive in Orlando around 3 or 4PM. We will check into Hampton Inn and go ahead and get cleaned up for our 1st outing.
  • After looking over all of the different dining options, we decided to go ahead and kick it off completely Disney style and head to Disney's Boardwalk to have dinner here: (Would love some input)

  • After dinner (if we have enough room), we plan to stop off at this place:

  • Just so I can eat one of these:

  • After we leave the Boardwalk, we plan to head on over to Downtown Disney and end our night here:

Hopefully, we can end the night SOMEWHAT early for I'm sure I will be up the next morning at the crack of dawn! I would love some feedback, especially if you have eaten at these restaurants or been to Disney Quest. Neither one of us has EVER been to any of these places. It will be a terrific start to our vacation!
