Hi everyone! I’ve been comparing the design elements on the Disney Wish, specifically between the Enchanté restaurant and the Grand Hall, and I noticed something intriguing.
In Enchanté, there's a stunning glass sculpture made up of cascading glass orbs in the center of the room. To me, the way this sculpture is arranged—with layers of glass balls descending in a pattern—looks more like a chandelier for a much bigger space. It has that elegant, "floating" look, like it was meant to be suspended rather than close to the ground.
In the original concept art for the Grand Hall, the chandelier shown is quite similar to this sculpture, with floating lights in a cascading style. However, the final Grand Hall chandelier ended up being different, with a swirl pattern and star details that fit the enchanted castle theme. My theory is that the original design for the Grand Hall chandelier was adapted and reused in Enchanté as a floor sculpture.
I think there could be several reasons for this potential change:
Does anyone know if there’s more information on this? I’d love to hear if anyone has insights into the design decisions behind these elements. Thanks!

I think there could be several reasons for this potential change:
- Theme Adjustment: The final Grand Hall chandelier might have been redesigned to better fit the castle-like, fairytale atmosphere with its star details.
- Safety and Practicality: It could have been challenging in terms of durability and maintenance in a high-traffic area, especially on a ship.
- Lighting Needs: The Grand Hall needs bright, direct lighting, while Enchanté could benefit from a more intimate, ambient light source, making the glass orb design more suitable there.
- Design Reuse: Rather than discarding the original design, they might have repurposed it for Enchanté to make use of the initial creative work.
