Theme Park Community Understanding Mismatch

Is it just me or does it feel like most people that are even in the theme park community don’t understand the parks and how they operate at all in general😂

Like you have some posters in the forum that clearly work with the parks and get it, but it feels like their voices are often drowned out.

If the OP means that some people here, for example, want the prices dropped so everyone can get in and have a wonderful time, or that prices keep increasing every year without noticing that in general Disney continues to spend tons of money to improve the parks to make it worthwhile to spend the extra money (or so it seems).

Am I close?

More so.

Just in the sense that most people (not even talking about this forum) with theme parks don’t understand the art aspect and certainly have no idea how operations works.

It’s weird because it’s like you almost have these tiers of people in which there’s varying levels of understanding (not the same groupthink opinion but just how things work), but because of the internet now everyone has an equal voice, unless we’re willing to acknowledge that not everyone is equal.

That is positive and negative because it ended gatekeeping and let new voices voice perspectives, but also everyone is now an expert in everything, and I’m not saying you have to work for Disney, but I think you get what I’m trying to get at.

Sometimes the “experts” do get things wrong like with Star Wars, so I’m not referring to the company or a specific mindset and more just at least first getting how the industry works to then make statements.

If there was some sort of checklist of understanding before people talked about a subject that would be interesting, though obvious that results in censorship, so I wouldn’t advocate for that, just a thought experiment.

I mean, this is also an accurate assessment of parts of the community too😂
