Trivia: The first three WDWRR locomotives entered service on October 1, 1971, they were all equipped with a Buckeye 3-inch diameter 3-chime whistle, which was commonly used on industrial switching steam engines, traction engines, little steamboats and tugboats. Despite having somewhat similar whistles, they have different pitches and tones, depending on their whistles' age or how the engineers sounded them on full blast or not. Here's some sound samples:
