The wait is the worst part

I just finished my phone interview and think I did a good job. With that and my work history I can't imagine how I won't get a position. There were only 3 roles I put down that I absolutely would not do. I have done them before at other summer jobs and either was awful at them or couldn't keep up so I was honest up front about that.

Now I am to the waiting to hear a response part and it is honestly the worst part. The situation is no longer in my control and nothing I say or do could sway Disney's final opinion at this point.

What did some of you who applied and have made it do to pass that time between the phone interview and the final decision? The interviewer Michael said that I will receive notice by email and dashboard so I'm sure I'll continue anxiously checking my email everyday until I get a yes or a no.

What roles did you request?

I have a friend on her second CP waitlist now most likely because the roles she wants are in very high demand.

My son got accepted less than a week after his phone interview, he is now working at Pecos Bill until June 1.

I got accepted on Wednesday almost exactly 1 week after the phone interview. I applied for everything except for House Keeping, Food Prep and Custodial. Like I said I worked for a camp my freshman year of college and did all 3 of those jobs when my actual position had no hours (I was an Audio/Visual Tech and 3 weeks out of the summer another company was there with their own techs) and I was awful at Housekeeping and custodial. Food Prep is just something I don't really enjoy. I was fine at it I just don't like being in the kitchen and knowing exactly where the food comes from. I'l take my illusion that the eggs don't come from a big bag that is boiled and then cut open thank you very much.

I ended up getting Attractions which surprised me because I thought that was a high demand position. The other 2 I said I would love to do were Hotel Hospitality or Concierge and Character Attendant.

I believe these 2 have fewer openings than attractions - but someone please correct me if I am wrong.

Attractions was my number one so I'm not complaining. I am about to finish my degree in Theatrical Lighting Design and I have been looking at the potential of using that in theme park and restaurant design so I'm going to take my time in Attractions to hopefully get a better understanding about how these "themed" rides work and how the lighting plays a critical role in the atmosphere of a ride. There is nothing quite like being in Haunted Mansion or Pirates of the Caribbean and believing you are actually in a place in the middle of the night. Creepiest thing is always going into those two rides right before sun set and knowing that when you entered it was light out but you come out and it is already dark.

You're correct. Most CPs/ICPs get placed in either Attractions, QS F&B and Merch. Hospitality and Concierge are much more selective and are generally reserved for people majoring in Hotel/Restaurant Management or similar. Of course not all of them are but most. GOOD LUCK. They've had a record number of applicants already so don't be to worried if you don't get a response ASAP. They've got a lot of people to sift through!
