...and everyone else that longs for the past. Bear in mind that I don't have the ability to do this, but I know some might...if only we could find some of these people who are huge Epcot/disney world fans! (you'll see what I mean in a second)
Imagine a computer "game", a 3d first person simulation, not unlike Quake 3 or Unreal 2, with HORDES of detail and hi-res stuff. Instead of running around shooting, you just walk. Only instead of some game world, you're walking around Epcot Center. That's right...Epcot Center...circa 1993.
The Universe of Energy is to your left...and it's colors phase out from orange to a deep red. Inside you know that right about now, a group of tourists are listening to "The Universe of Energy" in the spectacular finale. To your extreme right is the World of Motion. It's omnimover cars slowly glide up the spiral ride path that gracefully extends outside the pavilion...no screaming "Test" cars in sight. You can almost make out the little pavilion logo...but your attention is suddenly turned to what's in front of you...Horizons, in all of it's full-blown glory, rising like a perfectly sliced orange gem up to the flawless blue sky. You walk serenely past the silver-and-blue Horizons sign (complete with logo), and enter the building...the game doesn't pause for a loading time...you make your way through the queue you thought you'd never see again (it's not a busy day today...) and are able to board right on the actual ride. And you get to see the entire thing, recreated. As you ride, you're not affixed to some pre-recorded image from 1993. It IS 1993, and you can look around at whatever you missed last time through...and you can even choose YOUR own ending. Exiting the pavilion, you watch with a smile as a perfectly recreated monorail glides past, knowing that you can actually go ride any of the other rides in this simulated cyber-epcot...and isn't that great?
...I think it should be done. It's doable, especially with today's technology. (I just bought unreal 2k4...holy ish..)
