The Ultimate Disney World Vacation Pre Trip Report and PTR

Hello! This is my second trip report on the boards and I am just so excited that I have to include a Pre Trip Report for this one.

Here are few helpful details to help you get a little knowledge of our trip.

Dates:
August 14th - August 18th

Cast:
Me (I am on the very right)

This was at DLR in June with my family. But this trip is very different because I will be going without my family and with two of my friends instead!

Well that is the cast so let me tell you a little bit about us. I will be 19 soon and have grown up with Disney living in Tampa for a little while and every since then been very obsessed. This will be my first trip going without my parents or my friends parents so we won't have any old people slowing us down...:lol:
I work with DF at an amusement park in Guest Services so this will be a very relaxing outlet for us in a less stressful environment. DFF is DF's friend and is as equally obsessed with Disney as us so she will also be joining our adventure!

Ok, lets get down to some details. I only have day one planned out so far because we misplaced our original plans but once we find them I will update this report.
Here is a tentative schedule for our first day.
Day One: August 14th
5:30 AM- Wake up, finish packing and get ready to leave for the airport
6:30 AM- Leave for the airport
7:30 AM- Arrive at the airport and meet up with DF and DFF and say goodbye to family
9:30 AM- Flight from Cincinnati departs
11:48-12:00 PM- Flight arrives in Orlando
12:30 PM- Check in at Disney’s Magical Express and take bus to POP Century Resort
1:30 PM- Check in at POP Century and get settled in room and buy Resort Mugs
2:30 PM- Catch the bus to the Magic Kingdom
3:00 PM – 2:00 AM- Magic Kingdom (Extra Magic Hours)

That is all I have for now. I know that we will be doing the Keys to The Kingdom Tour on the 17th at 8:30 but other than that I forget which parks we are going to each day. We will have park hoppers so we are going to make the best of them!

Plannning a trip is awesome, but be gentle on yourself when planning things down to a specific hour....things are going to happen and your timeframe is going to get thrown out of sync....I would recommend doing some "gentle" planning i.e....a rough sketch and let things fall where they do...if your first day of watching timeframes is any indication of how you're going to map out your remaining days you're going to be miserable!

Thank you for the tip!! We only did the first day like that because of the flights and things like that. When it comes to planning our full days at the park we don't really do much planning other than deciding what parks we are going to and what shows or parades we want to see. I only did the first day like that because the flight times should be pretty accurate and we are only visiting one park.:wave:

Looks like our trips dates are identical! We're also planning on MK for the 14th. I doubt our kids will make it even close to 2am though! :lol:

That is awesome! Yeah we saw 2am and thought it would be great to get a lot of our favorites with low lines. The little ones would be real troopers if they made it until then!

My sister and I have never not gone to Disney without at least 1 family member (usually my mother) We did go to Florida last year on a sisters trip but it was just to Tampa for the weekend. We had a blast! I love that city!!!

I used to live in Tampa! But only until I was 5 so I don't really remember much besides going to Disney all the time. And thank you!

I figured out a change to our schedule for the first day.
Instead of heading straight over to Magic Kingdom after arriving at our resort, we are going to stop by Animal Kingdom until park closing (6 PM) then take the bus to Magic Kingdom for the rest of the night including EMH until 2 AM!

UPDATE!

I just finally purchased my tickets this morning which means all I have to do now is pack!!!

22 until we depart from Cincinnati! I can't believe how fast time is flying by. It seems like the other day it was 40 days away.
I am off to start making a packing list!

Update!

My park hopper got here a couple of days ago!!

And as of tomorrow it will be 10 DAYS!!! I can't believe it. Can start checking the weather. :sohappy:

Don't you love it when it's 10 days away and you can start checking the weather? I usually get obsessed with checking it too to make sure the weather's going to be good, or if its bad hope it changes haha.

We leave for the airport in less than an hour!! Our flight leaves at 9:30 and we will be heading to both Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom tonight with EMH at Magic Kingdom!!
