just curious if anyone has been to the utilidoor tunnels at mk. i know actually they are not tunnels because the are ground level with mk being built second story.my question is what did u think
are they and other back stage kept up as clean as on stage areas like they paint as much and have those high pressure hoses they clean the streets with for backstage too??
while on the subject does anyone know every night how many cast members are there in each park over night to clean and what do they do?
a- how often do they paint attractions like walls, poles etc
b- do they actually hose the streets every night
c- how often do they change light bulbs
d-how oftne do they do all the glass and windows
e- how often do they strip and wax floors in merchandise areas etc and is there an over night crew that just does like dusting and light cleaning at the merchandise areas?

also i have a pic of a cast member painted the street with like a greenish paint-does this still happen??

I´ve been in the utilidoors and many backstage areas in Epcot. What I remember of the utilidors is that they were clean, basically because they have a lot of traffic and there can´t be stuff blocking the road. It wouldn´t be safe. Safety is first in Disney so if something could be a threat to that, such as mess is, it´s a total no.

I don´t think backstage is painted as much as on stage areas, and in some cases, they look old, but I guess it depends on the areas they are and what they are for.

I know WSC in Epcot was hosed every day before it opened, or I might be wrong, could have been every other day. At least, every time I was there early, the gardeners, maintenance and custodial were there.

Fun fact: almost all of the vehicles in the Utilidor are electricity powered. They move merchandise, food, and performers on rechargable battery golf carts. Too much exhaust would put a strain on the air systems and be dangerous to the people down there. The ONLY exception is the armored truck that comes in to pick up the cash every day.

Painting and other maintenance seems to be done as needed. Sometimes if they let things get slack, like the lightbulbs on Main Street or the carpet in the monorail, the Orlando Sentinel will write a critical article and then it gets fixed REAL quick! :D
