I know this isn't so much as an attraction, but more of a feature of the old Tomorrowland that I would like to discuss.
For those of us that are old enough to remember the old Tomorrowland Entrance [1971-1994ish], one probably will remember the iconic Tomorrowland Towers. Yes, these graceful towers once stood tall over Tomorrowland welcoming guests. In their early years there were a white-ish color with water flowing down them. Over the years they changed different color schemes, with the water finally getting turned off, and mosaic tiles replaced instead.
I personally never saw the old Tomorrowland. I went when the new tomorrowland went into full swing for the 25th annivrrsary in 1996. Sure there are still things left of the old tomorrowland in the current tomorrowland, but I wonder why the towers were taken down.
Couldn't they have been changed into a new color scheme or decorated differently?
Oh well I an just hoping a discussion can begin sharing thoughts ,memories, and maybe even photos throughout the years of the tomorrowland towers. The entrance just looks so small without them. Well atleast tokyo disneyland still has their tomorrowland towers.
P.S. weren't the towers small models of a design for apartments of the future? I thought I read this sometime, somewhere.
