Our first trip to Disney was in 1985..honeymoon. we have been back every year since. Our kids have grown up in Disney. They are 23,21,18 and have been to disney every year since they were born. The things I remember about our first trip:

There was only the Ploynesian and Contemporary for hotels
No Hollywood Studios or Animal Kingdom
Only water Park was River Country
First restaraunt we ate at was Odyessy Restraunt in Epcot ( now its empty)
NO: Splash Mt,No Rockin Rollacoaster, no Test Track, etc

Our first trip was in 1986 (we married in 1985, too), so the "World" we saw was essentially the same as what you saw. The next time was 2000 (then 2005, then 2008) with our two girls. WDW is still their favorite place to go, even though (or maybe because) we go so infrequently.
Oh yeah - my older daughter just got back from her honeymoon at WDW (with a side trip to see Harry Potter Land).

I believe my first trip was summer, 1993. I was 8 years old and I specifically remember crying about going on Splash Mountain. My mom dragged me on and well, I LOVED it... I was just being a big baby

I remember going underneath the sign and my then almost 3 year old DD clapping and saying "disney word, disney word" (she had a little trouble with her l's) The castle was decorated like a birthday cake for the 25th birthday celebration. First restaurant we ate at was Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe and we still eat there at least once every visist. Animal Kingdom wasn't there either.

This is a great thread! Though I don't have a long history w/ Disney in the past, I plan on writing a similar post when my kids (5 and 2) are 25 and 22!
