I think that when the original mug debuted at Disneyland the designer basically said it was a nod to the Haunted Mansion.

First edition, Disneyland, no longer available.

2nd edition Disneyland and Mahaloween edition. The light green one might still be available in Disneyland but it won't be around in WDW. The blue one was exclusive to the Mahaloween event.

3rd edition. So far I've only seen it in use at WDW. Currently available.
