I just wanted to step outside Disney's Maingate for a little bit and talk about one of my favorite attractions in Orlando....The two live Killer Whale shows at Sea World Orlando.

First and foremost, I feel if you are taking your family to Orlando, FL and not taking them to Sea World you are missing the boat...as much as I love Walt Disney World...there is something about seeing the interaction of the trainers with these animals that is awe inspiring...and sometimes leaves me speechless....

Is anyone else with me on this? I just saw both shows this week and I couldn't get enough of them....

We adore Seaworld, my boys look forward to their time there very much. Their overall favourite is the Clyde and Seamore show. The Shamu shows are great but I personally feel they are a repeatition of one another, with shamu rocks being almost the same show as the Shamu adventure just set to some great music. Saying that i suppose there isn't really a lot more you can do with a killer whale is there:animwink:

"Shamu Rocks America is more of a ligthing spectacle combined with music...This show really shines in the evening hours. Unfortunately doe to the sun being out at showtime this time of year, Guests who experience "Shamu Rocks America" don't get the full effect...

shamu and sea world

I have to agree with you WDWGuy. if you go to Florida and do not visit Seaworld you are missing out on a fab experience. I absolutely love both Shamu shows, the interaction between trainer and whale (or dolphins) are amazing. The night show of Shamu rocking America makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up - it is just amazing!!!!!

*only 49 days to go*

I am a total Disney lover, and I have been to WDW many times over the past years with my growing family... but we do enjoy Sea World also, and can't go to the Orlando area without going to Sea World. I definitely agree... if you go to Orlando, get to Sea World. Shamu Rocks America is a great show! There are a lot of great attractions at Sea World, and now they have the new rides too, which add to a fun day!

10 more weeks for us!!! :D

We spend 14 days in Orlando when we go on holiday, 2 of these days are always spent at Seaworld.
Its educational (behind the scenes tours), relaxing (not as crowded as WDW) and everythings at a much slower pace. Plus all the attractions are seated and so theres little waiting in line (except Kraken :sohappy: & Journey to Atlantis) PLUS there is free beer in the hospitality tents :slurp:
The highlight of the park is Shamu stadium, especially the nighttime show Shamu Rocks America; its awesome

I have a HUGE soft spot for SeaWorld! It ia always the first park that we visit - a gentle way to ease off the jet lag! Shamu brings tears to my eyes, he is awesome! And the mime artist at the Clyde and Seamore show is great!

I like SeaWorld a lot, Shamu is great, the backstage tour was very cool (petting a penguin!), the free beer, the skiing show, the quietness of the park, and......... the mime!! He is hilarious!!
