Pre-Trip The Really, Actual, Day-Of 10th Anniversary (Plus Halloween!) Spectacular

I swore I wouldn't write this until we were closer to the trip, and then I forgot about it. Now it's almost here!

What: The Really, Actual, Day-Of 10th Anniversary (Plus Halloween!) Spectacular
When: October 7th-10th
Where: Port Orleans French Quarter
Who: Myself and Mr.Chernaboggles, to celebrate 10 years of marriage and all things Halloween.

The Story:
After a kind of terrible off-property Disney honeymoon, we always swore we'd do our 10th Anniversary on-property at WDW. We priced it several times last year and then decided to do a big long trip to Orlando in February, instead. It worked out so well and we had so much fun that we booked another for January 2015. The February trip was supposed to take the place of an actual anniversary trip.

But then my CM pal offered to get us a really great room rate.
And we've got these APs just laying around.
And Mr.CBs loves Halloween.
And we've never actually stayed on property before...

...yeah, I know. I'm fooling no one.

Back to Disney World we goooooo!!!

The Plan:
On Saturday (Oct. 4th) we'll be leaving the beautiful-but-currently-very-tense-Poconos and driving up to Cape Cod, MA, which is 370 miles in the EXACT WRONG DIRECTION. Why are we doing this? Because my very nice parents have agreed to babysit our 2 year old Labrador for a few days. I know it's ridiculous and I should just kennel him somewhere, but I can't do it. He's quite used to their house and they'll enjoy having a dog for a few days. I've already been informed that they'll be ignoring all my instructions and giving him whatever he wants, in proper grandpet-parent style.

Tuesday Morning Oct 7th: We have 9:00am flight out of Boston, which means we'll be getting up at a truly ungodly hour in order to drive the 2 hours from the Cape to the airport. We arrive in Orlando around noon where my local friend will be playing the part of magical express, including a stop at Publix to get water and snacks for the room.

Tuesday Night: Magic Kingdom! We have FastPasses for Space Mountain (which I can't ride, so Mr.CBs will go twice), 7 Dwarfs Mine Train (I'm still on the fence about that one) and Pirates of the Caribbean (which we both love). We'll watch Wishes and grab a QS meal somewhere and just generally bask in the glory of being back at WDW.

Wednesday Oct 8th: Epcot Day! We have morning FPs for Soarin', Nemo and Spaceship Earth, and we'll hit the Food & Wine Festival. We'll probably take a break at the hotel in the afternoon and then go back to Magic Kingdom, or maybe back to Epcot for Illuminations - we'll decide how we feel on the day. We may or may not hit Hollywood Studios, it's not a priority for this trip. We also didn't book any ADRs this time around, we figure with a BoG lunch FP and Food & Wine, it's not really necessary, we want to stay as flexible as we can.

Thursday Oct 9th: Happy Anniversary to us! We're probably going to AK early in the morning, but I didn't book any FPs, because I don't know for sure. We have to be in Magic Kingdom by 1:15 for our Be Our Guest lunch. I have afternoon FPs booked for Splash Mountain, Mine Train & Haunted Mansion. We'll also be attending MNSSHP that night.

Friday Oct 10th: We'll either sleep in or explore the resort a little in the morning, then take the actual Magical Express back to the airport and fly back to Boston. Once we land, we'll drive back to Cape Cod and spend Saturday with my family before returning home to PA to begin the countdown for January.

Congratulations on your tenth anniversary! Sounds like you're going to have a wonderful trip!

French Quarter is without a doubt my favourite moderate resort - it's small, quiet, the grounds are beautiful and the theme-ing is on-point. Definitely a great choice for your first stay on-property!

Thank you! We're super excited, everyone says such nice things about the POR/POFQ resorts.
