The poly beach is a disaster area..

The beach at the poly feels like its literally 30 feet long lol such a claustrophobic feel to it while this construction is going on..

And I don't know if its ever going to feel like it did before.. the new buildings seem so close and look like its gonna cut that beach down by 50 percent of more...

Does anyone have a concept art of the new building/beach they are building?

There are like no hammocks to be found anywhere.. well maybe one.. but even hammocks that used to be near the pool are gone.. and replaced by swings?

Seriously what the hell.. swings?! How is that consistent with the theming of a hawaiian beach? white sands.. and swings? grrr used to love the hammock area at the poly.

So many cut backs recently at the poly.. the singer outside the ohanas used to create such ambiance while you had drinks from the tambu lounge.. but he's gone.. the hammocks were awesome on the beach but they're gone.. soon the lobby's fountains will be gone..

and worse of all... there cheesy potatoes at ohanas are still gone

Still had a great time visiting for a few mins before ohanas.. just not a place i would stay at or visit for much time anymore.

I truly understand any Poly lover being upset, believe me. I will not stay anywhere BUT the Poly... and here's my thinking... The Poly (to us diehard fans) is STILL the Poly. Am I upset?? You betcha.. but, regardless, I still booked a 10 night stay in October. Old habits die hard I guess. In my heart of hearts, I want to believe these minor setbacks are temporary. Poly love reigns hard... we need to think positive

I commend your commitment, but I just can't spend that kind of dough to hear the same construction noises and sights I can hear and see at home for free.

Good to see you back here. Your absence has been noticed and your input missed. Part of the fun of WDW for us is staying at different places. Our last trip was BLT and it was wonderful. My favorite so far is WL, but we are trying to stay at as many different places as possible. If we only stayed at WL we would have missed out on Boardwalk, Beach Club, OKW, SSR, POR, POP, and many more. I appreciate your passion for the Poly, but we get so much enjoyment out of trying new places. Have also stayed at some fantastic off site places as well. Anyway, just wanted to share how much we enjoy trying different places. If you are happy and content at Poly, I really hope they don't mess it up too much for you with the new construction and remodeling.

Thank you so much for your kind words! When we first started visiting Disney, a few decades ago (wow... when did I get so old?!?!) we did the same, our very first stay was at Dixie Landings, and I loved it, and every year it was a different resort until about 12 or so years ago. I instantly fell in love with the Poly. I think Im just a creature of habit In the long run, there is no wrong way to do Disney.
