The Po Boy!

Just been watching a TV cooking tour of New Orleans & Memphis with two British chefs called The Hairy Bikers,but they were at this famous restaurant that serves the best Po Boys in town,mainly seafood like Shrimp Po Boy.They looked friggin awesome..Now I know that the best will be outside WDW but where in Disney would you recommend me to try my first Po Boy.

I can't speak from personal experience, but I've heard Fulton's makes a nice shrimp or oyster po-boy.

That's tough because I know a good poboy and I've never had one in WDW close to that. The bread makes or breaks it!

I would try House of Blues, POFQ or Restaurantosaurus. You have to get it "dressed." Lettuce, tomato, pickles and mayo.

Ive just found a question from our Debs way back on this site in march 2012 about Po Boys.Have checked POFQ menu & cannot see it,nor Restaurantsaurus at AK.Not even House of Blues.

Oh yes they do!! LOL I LOVE shrimp po boys and was all set to go to Sassagoula Floatworks this upcoming trip for lunch and try their version, but it wasnt listed on the menu. All I can do is ask, I mean I'll be there anyway to get beignets

Various types of Po Boys where available from Sassagoula when I was there last May, I didn't recall seeing them listed on allears at that time so you may still be in luck. Fingers crossed for you.

This kind of piggy backs your end of night question but if the kitchen is still open at POFQ we get one Po'boy to split! yummy! Yummy! We have never been there and not had them. They are always available at lunch and sometimes dinner

You may be able to find a sandwich in WDW that calls itself a po-boy, but it's just an imitator. You have to go to New Orleans to get the real thing. Same goes for the muffaletta they sell at both POFQ & POR.

Take a vacation to New Orleans. Your stomach will thank you.

It's my stomach size that I'am worried about.But yes New Orleans would be an awesome vacation.Bourbon street & all.Ive a friend who two years ago went on a round the world vacation with his girlfriend ( money no object to them ) They went all over Europe then to Bangkok the Australia then Hawaii then California then New Orleans,before flying home,and New Orleans was their favourite destination.
