The Parks in February?

We are planning our next Disney trip for February. Previously we've always gone in May for my bday, but this next time we decided we'd try something different. Honestly, our main reason was the temps. February sounded a little cooler than May and more conducive to us Wisconsinites :D I've never been in feb and I'm so use to the epcot flower & garden festival and all that, I was wondering what the parks are like in Feb? Anything special? Do they do anything for Valentine's day? We mostly stick to epcot and MK so I'm most curious about those. Are there are pros/cons to going in February?
Thanks!

Feb is great - at Epcot the art festival will be going on, it’s newer but similar to what you’re used to.

Valentine’s Day has some treats and stuff usually but you’ll love how slow the pros are - last few weeks of Jan and first two weeks of feb are the favorite times of year for our family (and often more than warm enough to swim)

If you haven’t been to AK lately I’d suggest going even if for a half day and checking out Pandora - we loved it and have traditionally been skip AK people.

Weve travelled to WDW in Feb and the thing we love about it is leaving the cold, snow and ice of home and having the time to enjoy a warmer WDW. Then when we return home its broken up the winter depression and it doesnt seem as long a wait for spring. The temps are a bit cool, needing jeans and wind breaker or sweatshirt at times. We found using the hot tubs are always a thing to enjoy...the pools may be too chilly for use. The parks in Feb have gotten more crowded than years before. try booking before or after the school vacation weeks. If you are planning on Valentines week there will be special snacks all around, some restaurants will have special offerings or desserts and in the stores there are valentines specific merchandise for sale. The only real cons I have is that Feb's gotten more popular and more crowded. But I'll take that over staying home in the snow & ice.

We have been several time in January and February. The weather is quite variable so you should be prepared for anything. The crowds are smaller than in the summer or around holidays but they have gotten larger as the years have gone by. Once upon a time (the '80's) you had the park to yourself in the winter--no more. You should also check park operating hours as they are usually shorter in winter and there will be some refurbishments (Splash Mountain is often closed for at least part of the winter months.)

Thanks for all the tips!! I actually don't mind the crowds (we're regularly new to WDW trips, so I guess I have nothing to compare it to lol) Plus I usually fastpass and make reservations for every so there's not a lot of long waits. The pools was something I hadn't thought of... we do like to swim. But I agree with all you other "snow & ice" folks. I think just getting away to an even slightly warmer climate in February would be a nice change :D

I went President's day weekend in 2015 and the weekend before that this year. Both were reasonably busy. This year it was when WDW was seeing higher than usual attendance for 'slow' times and they were reducing staffing at inopportune times which also contributed to increased waits. 2018's slow time was more the summer, but I'm not sure I'd travel from Wisconsin to FL then. This February it was warmer than expected and we enjoyed the pool.

When in February do you plan on going? The weekend of the 22nd to the 24th is the Princess Half Marathon weekend and it will be crowded starting that Thursday through Monday.

February weather can range from frigid to low 80s.

Many northeast states are off for winter break the week of the 17th. We will be there that week so that means it will be cold! No, it WILL be cold. We travel with friends every other feb. Last time we did Disney with them it was so cold they did not let the animals out on the savannas at AKL where we were staying. One year we did Disney cruise. It took the captain two tries to dock at Castaway Cay due to the wind. It was the coldest it had been in the bahamas in 70 years.

I freely admit it is our fault. But be warned. 2/16-2/23 will be cold. We depart on 2/24. That day will be beautiful!!!

It was mid 80s with humidity near 90% on February 25th this year. Normally, it would be in the upper 50s/low 60s.

It was unseasonably warm last February when I went with my in-laws and wife. We had packed jeans and sweatshirts and never put them on except for the early mornings and late evenings. It was also busier than expected, but I am guessing that the hurricane had something to do with that as people had rescheduled their trips to February from the previous September. I have been to WDW during both February and May. I enjoyed my May trip due to the lower crowds, better temps, and longer park hours; but I will say the festival of arts is more enjoyable than the gardens IMO. My wife and I went home with a nice piece of artwork.
