I've stayed there and it's rather good.... it's got more things for kids to do in the resort than staying on-property... but it's still off property.

Quite a few people I know do a few days on Disney property, and a few at Nick hotel

There's also a really good supervisor there that always assists when there's no manager around :lookaroun

Nick hotel

I stayed there last year with my family. It was my mother, father and my 5 year old brother. i was 15 then and i had a good time. The pool is spectacular. if your looking for something kid friendly this is the place for it. also, it is about 2 miles from the disney property, not far at all! The character breakfast is nice thing too, you can eat with spongebob, fairly oddparents, jimmy newtron, all those guys. The rooms are very nice also, they are very spacious and the staff is very nice. The only thing to warn about is the noise level by the pool is you have a room by it, it gets rowdy if your not into that stuff. and it is centered around the kids so if your planning to not be bothered by tons of yelling kids, the nick hotel isnt for you. I would deff. stay there again! :sohappy:

Do you have to stay at the resort to go to the character breakfast? Are the characters only out there at breakfast?
you have to say at the resort to eat at the breakfast. The characters are there for breakfast and randomly throughout the day. However, the resort amenities (including characters) are for the enjoyment of hotel guests only.

I agree... the new ownership definitely jacked up prices, but they also jacked up the offerings. People view it as a hotel, but they're trying to market it as a destination onto itself - and it's working.
