Disneyland Resort in California has submitted planning permission to open an AAA four-diamond rated hotel.
Plans will see a 700-room hotel built on a 10-acre plot which is currently a car park in Downtown Disney.
The hotel - which will be the first to open in almost 20 years - will be just the fourth property affiliated to Disneyland Resort, joining Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, the Disneyland Hotel and Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel.

The average nightly rate will be around $450 (£311), making it the most expensive of the park hotels. Construction will begin in 2018 with a view to opening in 2021.
The Walt Disney Imagineers, who are responsible for the brand's theme park and hotel designs around the world, will design the new property, but a theme has not yet been decided. It has been confirmed, however, that the hotel will have a rooftop restaurant - from which you'll be able to see views of Sleeping Beauty's Castle and have front-row seats to the fireworks show - plus a huge outdoor 'interactive' swimming area.

Last summer, Disney declared it would invest at least $2 billion over the next decade to improve and expand the park, which is comparatively small compared to its East Coast counterpart, Walt Disney World Orlando, which has - for example - a total of 21 Disney-branded hotels. This expansion includes the new Star Wars-themed land at Disneyland Park, which is under construction.
