Trip Report The Never-Ending Summer Of Disney *COMPLETED*

Seriously?!!

Can you believe it??

BC7AE996-5BB5-4770-9C10-F20CE1197633.jpeg

This is jaw-dropping news!!

If only.

Two things in life give me the blues ~ the end of summer and the end of a Disney vacation. A never-ending summer of Disney would be a dream come true! But I am certainly happy to “settle” for a WDW vacay in June....in July....and in August. 😊And rather than write three separate trip reports (and annoy @amjt660 when my *COMPLETED* report really isn’t 😉) I decided to take @Rista1313 ’s suggestion and post an ongoing travelogue, à la @blgauger style.

So let’s get started!

Vacation #1
June 16-24, 2018
Tuvalu, Woody and Em get pampered at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge

Was there rain? Any snarky Cast Members? Ridiculous guest behavior? A Magic meet-up? How many times did we watch Happily Ever After?

You’ll have to follow along to find out.

Yes!! I love it. It holds my DSLR and an extra lens or two plus raingear, wallet, purchase, etc. The straps are super comfy. I love how I can just swing it around to open it without taking it off. My one complaint is that my back can get kind of sticky in the hot Florida sun, but that’s usually when I flip it around and wear it across my stomach.

@TrolleyFollower91 Thank you! I’m really tempted now.

You beat me to the punch. I was going to include the price in my next post.

It was $36/pp not including tax and gratuity.

I have to admit a little gasp when I opened the billfold and saw $108.00 for breakfast. Even with unlimited POG juice!

The food was very good....everything was freshly prepared, hot items were hot and cold items cold....but you’ll soon see the real reason for the price (a surcharge, if you will 😉.)

Yah, it's pricey, but for some people who want a nice character breakfast, (and considering it's at the GF), I don't think that's too outrageous. Furthermore, for someone on a budget (but wants to splurge a bit), the breakfast (or brunch options in a few hotels) may work. It's the dinner prices that are out of reach for some people.

Such beautiful HEA shots from balcony! And yay to some actual non rain pool time.
was disappointed when we were led to the lower level
Yeah I hear you. Upper and middle level are soooo much better. Middle does make a difference.
at 1900 Park Fare.
my favorite breakfast place! Managed to be there for my birthday (and had the characters sign my bday card!). And we took grandson for his first visit to Disney-also his first up and close with characters. He wasn’t too sure of them...but he’s only 2.
Oh cherished POG juice,
What no Shirley status and getting the big glass? I may have inhaled 2 large glasses at each of my breakfasts...at least I got my vitamins in right?:joyfull:

Still worth it. Although I’m gonna miss having a CM in the family for the good discounts...

Oh I'm surprised! I don't know why I just don't picture you guys as character diners. :joyfull: I don't see the pancakes on the menu anymore and I'm BUMMED. They were just called the Floridian Pancakes I think. @blgauger knows what I'm talking about! :hungry:
If you haven't tried The Cafe Sandwich at lunch, you are missing out! That is literally the best sandwich I have ever had in my LIFE! I don't recommend the house-breaded mozzarella though. I get that they are trying to be fancy, but you only get like 2 pieces of mozzarella for $10. Sorry to derail the report, but I talk about that sandwich every chance I get.

Friday, con’t

Woody and I left the pool just in time ~ we missed getting caught in a downpour!

Usually we enjoy sitting on a resort balcony watching the rain. But due to the pitch of the WL roof it was impossible to sit (let alone stand) out there without getting wet!

Earlier in the afternoon we’d discussed evening plans. We had that Spice Road Table ADR that we had “floated” from Monday....which we had “floated” from Sunday....and when Em announced, “I’d really like to go to Magic Kingdom tonight”....I knew we’d be “floating” Spice Road Table AGAIN. (I moved the ADR to our July trip....will we finally make it? Stay tuned!)

Em booked fastpasses for us and the window for our first FP was approaching as it continued to rain. We grabbed our umbrellas and hoped the storm had chased some guests out of the park.

But as you can probably guess (or experienced @Zipitidoda 😉) the rain hadn’t affected the crowd level at all. MK was packed! It was a very slow walk from the entrance to our first FP.

We joined the long FP line (which was better than the 125 minute standby line!)

However it was worth the wait as we got sent to the Alpha side! Again I did my best to discern where the mysterious “lounge” could be!

Never did find the door. :bored:

But I found the camera!

We caught Edna Mode while on our way to the PeopleMover. She’s on a moving float which does not stop and she says a few phrases. We thought she’d join other Incredibles on stage but she did not.

After our spin around Tomorrowland we fought through the crowds to our next FP ~ which had a one hour standby wait.

Yes, it would be 60 minutes before standby guests could go “Unda the Sea”. :jawdrop:

Mobile ordering was going to be our friend for dinner.

After a brief wait we received our food and found a table in Cleo’s room.

Em and I had a chicken parm sandwich.

Woody had the antipasto salad.

I’m sure our food wasn’t as good as Spice Road Table’s but it hit the spot.

I caught Woody on his phone. It was Friday night at 7 pm....the work week was supposed to be over!

If it hadn’t been for some dark clouds (and the weather app indicating a high probability for more rain) we would have stayed in the park for HEA. Instead we headed for the exit.

Got a couple quick PP pics on the way out.....nothing embarrassing this time!
