The Mummy atttraction?

It's been said that the new Mummy attraction may turn out to be a coaster, although that may be true I kind of doubt it. To actually
install a coaster into the old Kong building would be an engineering nightmare, not to mention Universal has always prided itself on building immersive environments and thrillrides to
tie into their movies not coasters. Even though their is a first for
everything I just don't see a rollercoaster based around the Mummy movie, but something more of a thrillride it was also said
in an interview that it would be based on new revolutionary technology like Spiderman so I guess well have to wait and see!

I really don't want it to be a coaster. I'd rather another dark ride much like Earthquake or Kong (only longer in length).

Then again, we don't even know its going to be a Mummy attraction, though all signs point to yes. (franchise film, sequel may come out in the year it opens.)

I don't really see how they could pull off the theming of a coaster in the space that Kong occupied. The facade is in the middle of New York City. The only reasonable Mummy-esque theming I could see them giving this ride would be that of a museum containing Mummy artifacts that come to life, or something, and I don't really see how they could put that into the context of a coaster, or vice versa.

But it is still really early in the game, so anything goes, to a certain degree...

But how much theming does universal ever put on the facades of their buildings?

Just as long as it looks good inside normally works for that area of the park.

You know, there are ways to mix revolutionary technology into a roller coaster ride. Not that I am trying to leave a hint or anything...

Building a coaster in a closed building is hard. I won't say impossible, but almost.

All indoor coasters were built first, and then the building was added around it.

You would have to get cranes, tracks, etc. inside.

But not to say they won't open up part of Kong to work on it.

I would much rather see a longer than King Kong dark ride rather than a coaster. A coater really wouldn't fit anything for the mummy. It just wouldn't really appeal to me because it would be kinda' dumb.

I definitely think they will make it a coaster, just as long as they make it a Mummy themed one. As for another Mummy Sequel... The second one was bad enough, the only thing good were the local midget natives in the very end.

They have these great guys called "engineers"....:hammer:

Sorry.. Couldn't resist. I do understand what you're saying however. THey can always tear the roof off an build it higher. The outside looks like a museum facade, so all they have to do is theme it like the British or Egyptian Museums in the films.

I would prefer, as I said before, a dark ride to a coaster however.

It does kinda' look like a meuseum out front. I think that a dark ride would be the best, like I said before. Also, it'd be kinda' hard to get the tracks if it was a coaster inside the building cuz they'd need a big, ugly crane out front wich'll block the pathes. It would just make more sense to make a dark ride.
