Hi there guys! Well it's been about a month since we returned from Disney so I think it's a good time to start our trip report! Let me introduce you to the two of us:
That's my DB Danny & Me, Sara on our way to the Disneyworld resort on the MCO monorail!
Now if you know anything about me it's my OBSESSION with Disney. There isn't a day that goes by where I don't talk about something Disney related. Haha. So when my DB asked what I wanted for my 22nd birthday, a trip to Disney was the first thing I could think of. So TWO, yes TWO weeks before my birthday we planned the best little trip ever! We originally were going to go to Disneyland as flights from JFK to LAX were actually reasonable, however the Halloween party tickets were all sold out for the days we were going to be there, so we crunched some numbers and decided we could do Disneyworld instead (not like i'm complaining!) I went online to see which Value resorts were available, and it seemed as though every time I refreshed the page, rooms were disappearing or selling out on the reservation page, so we went down to my lovely AAA agent here in Connecticut and she booked everything for us. Last year we stayed at the Pop Century and absolutely loved it. We were in the 50s building, so we were close to the bus stops and we just loved the overall feel about it. Well since we were booking so close to our departure date, our options were quite limited. We decided on an All Star Music room, as my DB is a DJ and I thought he'd appreciate that. Not going to lie I was REALLY bummed that the BRAND new AoA Little Mermaid section wasn't available, but I was so ecstatic to be going in the first place that I didn't even care where we stayed. So we booked a trip right then and there for a trip from Sunday October 21st until Wednesday Oct 24th. My birthday was that Thursday but I had to work on the weekend so we left bright & early Sunday.
So, I set all my ADR's (I had NO problem booking any of them for the times I wanted! Maybe because there was only 2 of us?) And started reading the blogs about the possibility of the New Fantasyland to be open during our stay (most people said zero to none because of the Cast Member Previews
) A few days later, I decided to go back online to the Reservation website to see if our hotel had sold out, and when I clicked Value, up came a room for an AoA Little Mermaid room! Was I dreaming?! I immediately bombarded my AAA agent with emails and calls and told her if switching to that room wasn't going to cost much more to book the room! She eventually called me back and told me it was going to be $20 more to upgrade and that she went ahead and booked the room for me! I was literally shaking with excitement. My DB...well not so much haha. Alright well that's the backround of this TR. Next up is Day 1!!!
