I'm currently too lazy to search online for myself and I think it would make a good conversation so does anyone know what were going to be the themes of the Legendary years? The movies depicted? The pools?
Thanks

I stayed at POP a few times, and I have wondered also how they were to be themed. It didn't seem like a very good idea to me. I think it was going to be 1900s to 1940s, not to many Disney travelers can relate to that time frame. I think the idea of POP was to take people back to a time they remembered as a kid. I love walking around the resort taking in all the scenery.

like the above poster said, it was to be 1900s to 1940s, and i read that when the economic downtown happened in 04 ish, that disney put on hold the rest of the construction on the legendary years, then yrs later i guess the art of animation idea came to fruition....i would have loved to see what the final product looked like. Im only 31, but i love the era of the roaring twenties and the 40s would have been amazing...but my family and i are excited about art of animation...theres only 4 in my family so we wont need a suite, so the little mermaid rooms will be our choice...

Disney made a smart move in putting the idea on hold and and eventually going with the Art of Animation. I personally love the era of 1900s to the 1940s, however in a value resort you find a lot of families with smaller children. Theming is important for kids and Art of Animation offers that.

Like the Classic years, I would guess that it would have featured time specific Disney items as well as popular items from the time. I believe Walt was going to be a feature in the 00 section. I would imagine that the 20s would have had some Mickey and Minnie involved, the 30s snow white, and the 40s could be anyone's guess (probably Dumbo or Pinocchio). It's a bit odd that the resort is called Pop Century with only half of the 1900s being recognized, I can't say that they made a bad move in switching the theme. I am pretty sure that All Star Movies is still the most popular value resort because of its recognizable Disney theme. I have a feeling Art of Animation will be a lot more successful than the legendary years would have been.

NICE! I can imagine the themed rooms now...trench-like for WWI, speakeasy for prohibition, shanty-like for the 30's and bombed-out for WWII. Maybe a strobe lit, non-functioning AA of FDR as a centerpiece for the pool. Good to see some true imagineer-like creativity on this topic. Kudos.

I thought about this last time I was at POP! because Art of Animation was well on it's way to being done. I think they should just take "Century" out of the name because everyone calls it POP! anyways. That way they don't have to re-theme the area and they can just say it is a resort that celebrates pop culture of yestur-years. I think the 50's are a good year to start at simply because it is post-war America back in a good state.

Hahaha, anw back on topic, I kinda wish they would have finished what they started and finished the century. It was an interriesting concept but I do think Art of Animation is going to be more popular than the Legendary Years would have ever been

And everything was going to be in black and white, since color hadn't been invented yet, of course:

No Idea But JUst A Thought...

Maybe the Lengendary Years area would celebrate thw milestones to create the Disney Empire! 1900-Walt's Birth...1920-Mickey's B irth...and other character births or other milestones. Kind of like a history lesson of the beginnings of Disney as we know it today! THAT WOULD BE A GREAT IDEA FOR THE CHILDREN TO LEARN SOMETHING ABOUT THE MAN WHO CREATED THE WOLRD WE ALL LOVE...YOUNG AND OLD ALIKE!
