On my last visit to Disney World I noticed that The Living Seas was not a ride anymore it was just a trip on a hydrolater was something changed on The Living Seas at any time ?

I suppose that was the reason why they closed the manatee section of the living seas attraction right? cus when i was there in feb of this year it was open and when i returned there in july also this year it was closed, so anyone know what's the deal? seems to me that disney have spent way too much on merchandising with this attraction cus all i saw was nothing but fish and alot of merchandise.

Like the Land at EPCOT, the Living Seas has other purposes like research, it is too bad that most people do not get that fact. The seacabs were closed due to budget cuts and lack of popularity.

how can the seacabs be a lack of popluarity, when you had to use them to get to the main part of sea base alpha right after the hydrolaters?

The sea cabs cost money to maintain and they ultimately only saved you about 10 steps of walking so there was really no point in keeping them open. It was the shortest ride in WDW (that actually goes anywhere), I believe.

The manatees are back as of last week. They continually rehabilitate and release these so that's why they may not have them every time. The tank also featured at least two dolphins along with the sharks, rays, etc.

The pavillion was filled with people when I was there last week. The kids (they were everywhere) really loved it. Much like AK, most adults have seen so much in real life and on TV that seeing those fish really doesn't do anything for them anymore.

Some folks will tell you that LS is empty after 11am. Well guess what? So is the rest of future world aside from Test Track.

I would be more than glad to have a cool new attraction in LS but I maintain my stance that there's nothing "wrong" with it the way it is now.

Maybe the attraction needs a corporate sponsor of some sort to help it continue the research and make the attraction more of a an attraction

know what would be really weird is if disney introduced a simulator ride in living seas with a movie kinda like the one they used for horizons when it was around, you know the part of the ride where you had to select a different ending (the underwater movie), and maybe extend it alittle. does this sound stupid to you? let me know what ya think people please!

Are you seriousthey closed the ride part of living Seas? I love that ride/pavillion it's so cool! do you just walk through the ride part or do you go in a different way to the "labs". I'm really disappointed it's not still operating!:(

I don't mean to correct but the hydrolators are still there and operating. It's the sea cabs that are no longer in operation. The way they have things blocked off now, you wouldn't even know they were there unless you knew they were there.
