The Little Things You Should Not Forget To Bring

Its always those little things you bring with you that in my mind make our stay easier. Yes its a little more packing but saves some money and certainly helps.

We always make sure we bring couple of rolls of quarters for laundry and when kids were younger..gameroom. YES you can get change there but I liked having it put aside. Even bring own detergent.

Rain parkers gotten from walmart...cheaper ( yes no mickey mouse on it) but we bring few.

Med ( roll) for blisters...harden the the skins on feet or toes..big difference. nothing worst then trying to walk all day in disney with blisters.

lots snacks for room and water IF I can manage it...saves lots $$

always try to arrange it so that one piece of luggage will be empty after we get there ( carrying snacks..water etc)...so that have extra space for merchandise bought.

Again its extra packing but I like things all accounted for when we get there..

We have envelopes set aside with money for each dinner..just take one out of safe each night..again..accounted for....another set aside for breakfast too. This way most if not all cash in wallet is $$ we can use for disney stuff.

This is one thing I would not go without:

I found out about it when I started running a couple of years ago and it works wonders. Walking around all day in the humidity can really lead to some nastiness without this wonderful product. Totally worth the ten bucks.

We do the whole envelope thing too.
Envelopes:
9 of them labeled with the day of the week with $10 in each for Mousekeeping.
1 for tip money that I will not be needing for that particular day.
1 for "Oh S****" money in case something happens.

The rest of our money is kept on us each in a combination of cash and customized gift cards. There is a site that you can get gift cards with any photo you want and have any salutation you want added. For instance, our "extra food card" has a photo of a Disney meal on it as the background image and the salutation says (My name) and then "food" under that.

Cards:
1 for general merchandise that I do not want the family to spend their personal money on. hats, t-shirts, etc...
1 for Extra food that is not covered by the DDP
1 for rental car gas
1 for each of us with nearly half of our spending money on it. The rest is kept in cash.

As for other things we bring to make our stay easier....

A 2 pack of large 3M removable hooks, some small rope, and a cheap shower curtain from the Dollar Tree. We use this to make a divider for the sink areas.

A Sunpass for the rental car window. Makes getting through toll booth much easier.

Purex Complete 3-in-1 sheets. I am a little OCD and cannot stand the smell of dirty clothes in the room, or the idea that they are there for long. I have to wash clothes one night mid-way through the trip while we are at the pool swimming.

Collapsible laundry baskets for each of us that we get from the Dollar Tree and place side by side under the coat rack beside the sinks.

A shoe organizer, again from the Dollar Tree, that we use to organize our shampoo, conditioner, deodorants, etc...

We pack our son's clothes in a mid-sized luggage and then pack that in a large piece and pack things in on top of that. When we're ready to leave we have a large piece of luggage for souvenirs.

Take zip-lock bags. Carry one for each of you and when getting onto a water ride, put your valuables inside. Keeps em dry better.

Go to the store and buy a cheap disposable water camera for shots you want to take at the beach. We get one for Clearwater and can swim while taking pictures.

Before you leave go to the store and buy the cheapest (they all taste the same anyway) drink mix packets (below) and use them with a water bottle at the water fountains. Saves a ton on drinks while in the parks.

Even if you are going for just 7 days, take 10 or more days of clothes with you. You never know when something may happen and you'll need to change. Then you will not be out an outfit for the trip.
