Last night, 7 of us saw The Lion King in Chicago, The production is moving to San Francisco next. I know that the play has been in Chicago for almost a year and that it is leaving on the 18th of Jan. We just coulcn't get our acts together to see it sooner. All I can say is OH MY GOD!!!! What a fabulous production! Just when I thought it couldn't be more amazing, it became more amazing. If you ever get the opportunity to see it, I suggest you do.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

You've found out something I've been telling people for years!

It is a truly amazing and ground-breaking production and one of the few that can be witnessed over and over again without becoming old.

A neat part of what makes it special is that it does not matter which cast you see of it (London, Broadway, Toronto, Touring...) because it is an ensemble piece and the production stands on its own.

Glad you enjoyed it!!!

I saw the play, and thought it was great, but at one point, the kid playing simba got hurt. During the "Can't wait to be king" sequence, the kid fell off of the ostrich he was riding on, and limped throughout the entire sequence. They had to pause the play for a while until the replacement actor could come out.

I saw it in London and it was excellent. This was in May so most of the cast will probally be the same.

I saw the real touring version, not the one that plays the same city for months, but for just a few weeks. I saw it in Memphis and it didn't live up to the London production. I don't think that it was that great and would consider it an average/slightly above average production.
