sorry if its been posted already but who thinks that "The Incredibles" was rather dark and perhaps meant for an older audience than it was received by?

i know dan bird definitely makes adult movies but he does them animated so they always come off as kids movies

It's not in the poll, but I would vote for "all ages."Now I now someone could debate it, but I think he did a very good job at balancing the reality of what he was tring to bring across, and what yonger ones will think. He kept it cartoonish enough so that kids wouldn't relate ot to the real world (well, most kids), but at the same time made sure that older audiences would enjoy it as well. He had the good sense not to actually address the topic of Helen's concer over her thoughts of Bob cheating on her, but still conveyed the idea in a way that older audiences would understand. All things taken into consideration, I think this is a great family movie. Just my opinion though.

Acutally, I would still consider it a family movie. Sure, its a little dark for a normail Pixar movie, but I've seen far darker animated films that are meant for kids. Mostly the light hearted humor outdoes that dark aspect of it.

Some of the over-protective mothers I've seen complain about it being too dark are hilarious. I saw one mom ranting that it should have been rated R. Good grief!

hard to believe but yeah. theres even a group of moms pushing to have any movie that shows or even MENTIONS smoking to be automatically rated "R"

heres an idea STOP BLAMING FAMILY PROBLEMS ON TV AND MOVIES

EVERY FAMILY HAS PROBLEMS STOP BLAMING EVERYTHING BUT YOURSELF OR YOUR KID

Yeah, I'd say all ages, too. I really don't think there's enough overt "adult" stuff there to keep it away from the kids. Plus, people tend to throw around the "Adult" label so much that it kinda loses its meaning. It seems like anything that is released that has any sort of questionable content has some parents' group attacking it. Y'know, in Snow White, the title character is almost killed. A couple of times! And the Queen gets struck by lightning and dies! I never hear anyone raise a fuss over that one (then again, I'm not a member of a PTA or anything).

By the by, Brad Bird created The Incredibles. I don't even know who Dan Bird is. I'm sure he's a nice guy, though.
