Has been changed to electric motors. During the rehab the carpets were cleaned but the banshees that flow in and out of the window in the ballroom scene are still broken. No word yet on when they will be fixed.

I know a ride/show technician

I know a ride/show tech who is assigned to Magic Kingdom West who works on the Haunted Mansion. He keeps me updated to the goings on.

Maybe I'm tired, but wouldn't they go from Electric Motors to hydraulics. Please elaborate if you can as to why they changed, thanks.

I am not exactly sure i can find out the whole reason but it was impart to make it more quiet. There has also been trouble with the singing busts focus but that will soon be fixed. There is also a noise comming from the spider webs that is from the motor that makes them twitch thats not supposed to be there that will be fixed as soon as the Ride/Show Tech replaces or fixes the motor.

-cringe- I'd hate to fix a motor on THOSE spiders.....

Um, from what I've heard, you could hear a noticable bump, or some kind of "starting" of the hydraulics in the streching rooms when the ceiling began to rise, and I think that it spoiled the effect, big-time. Nice improvement, IMHO.

The spider twiching motor has been fixed but will ware quickly do to the fact that it runs non stop all day. I think they should replace the mechanism all together ohh well. The spiders are guady anyway mabey they will dump them and put in some animatronics.

I agree, even though it didn't look like much inside was touch during the rehab.

The Changes to the Mechanicals of the Stretch Room are very noticeable.

Very Quiet. It just starts moving. It doesn't have the noticeable, "I;m Starting to Move" Sound it used to have.

Plus the whole sequence was very smooth and quiet, just a shame the didn't re-wallpaper the room or smooth out the tears and wrinkles in the paintings and wallpapers.

Actually, in its early days, the scene was much more bloody. The spiders were like, s-u-c-k-i-n-g blood out of a person stuck in the web or something....it was tossed from too many guest complaints.

i love it wen they touch up old rides using new tech stuff and make the ride sooo much better (even though the HM couldn't get n e better)

one thing id like them to do though is that after riding in 99 i learned all about the secrets of scrim, and then riding again in 2001 i noticed how scrimmy the streching room celling actually is. you can tell this cus it looks all pulled and isn't equel with the pattern. Thats all they should improve on all i think.

hey can any of u give me any links to find out what other features were to feature in the HM like the banshees and the evil spiders?

In the new rehab did they work on the "Hot" and "Cold" Chills that were suppose to come from the dum buggy??

No...I don't think that technology is there...we were there after the rehab, and we didn't notice it.

Of course. HM gets a yearly, or bi-yearly rehab. Its usually in the off-season, so I'd figure between now and thanksgiving, or in '03.

No I don't mean a yearly rehab or bi-yearly. I mean a rehab that is bigger than all others. This rehab is to bring back the ride back to its former glory.
