Haha, this is actually kinda creepy, but I wandered into our maintenance office at Stitch's Great Escape! today to report a cannon down in Chamber B and noticed (as I had before) the human head mounted on their wall.

Finally, curiosity got the better of me and I asked the engineers what it was all about.

Turns out it's the head of the Mr. Johnson / Tom Morrow animatronic from the original Flight To the Moon and Mission To Mars shows.

They also told me that the basic structure of Sarge is the same animatronic body.

Disney seriously cannot throw ANYTHING away!

I wish I could take pictures of the head, but I'd probably get fired...

Just thought it was interesting, lol.

Very interesting! I always wondered what happened to Mr Tom Morrow / Johnson after the attraction closed in October 1993. I have actually been on Alien Encounter (Really scary!!!), when I went to WDW for the second time in 2002. SIR I remember was a evil orange-coloured robot wearing what was a bicycle helmet! :ROFLOL:

However, I am curious as to why the preshow for Alien Encounter was really small in size, while Mission Control from the former attraction was very large! Is the preshow for Stitch's Great Escape (Alien Encounter's replacement) where Mission Control for Mission to Mars was, or was it in a different part of the bulding? Any information will be great! :)

I have heard rumours that the animatronic Timekeeper from the show of the same name is currently stored in the former skyway station! But I may be wrong...

SGE is essentially a re-dress of Alien Encounter. All the show rooms are the same and, other than the animatronics and signage, are largely still the same.

Sadly, I don't remember Tom much. Anyone have a good pic of him?

They may have decided that a more "intimate" pre-show was better for the overall AE show, to go along with the "personally intimate" nature of the AE main show, so they only used the space they needed to for the AE pre-show. A more spacious pre-show room may have felt too "airy".
