When they check your ID when you are just visiting the resort, what the heck are they looking at? They don't write anything down, just look at it. Seems to be some kind of deterrent check or something. Anyone know?

They are probably looking at the dates printed on the ID to make sure that the person is a current guest at any resort.

Living locally I usually go without a KTTW card, it just seems to be a weird system they have. I'm sure it's effective or they wouldn't be doing it.

The guards @ the WL gate inform the CMs at the lobby /car/check-in area. They say " Welcome Home ______ Family". It's the coolest thing that they know you even before you check-in.

Taking a poll, man vs women drivers.
Checking the DOB, to see how many young guys/gals are driving better vehicles than they are.
Checking the names to be aware of any corporate VIP's entering the property so they can alert staff.

Just being sure that if a person named B. Iger is driving in, they say.... Welcome Mr. Iger ... Sir...

We very rarely stay on property but we visit the resorts. The guard always looks at my husband's licence, then tells him where to park. Sometimes they'll make small talk if they're from our aea or something, but there is absolutely no matching with key cards or anything, since we generally don't have one.

Next gen technology. There are small camera implants in their eyeballs and they are scanning your DL and cross referencing with spending records.

Yeah, they've only checked our DL when we've had resort reservations. When asking to look around or when we had a reservation at California Grill, they just told us where to park.
