The Great TV Ride

A recent discussion with some friends got me thinking about expanding DHS and adding the Great TV Ride to the park. Please don't hate on me, it is meant to be a joke. But what TV shows/scenes would you like to see (or perhaps would be totally ridiculous) included.

- Since they are owned by ABC, I think one scene needs to be AAs of the women of the View seated at the table all talking at once. :D
- The four Golden Girls sitting at the kitchen table enjoying cheesecake
- Lucy and Ethal working the conveyor belt at the chocolate factory
- The plane crash scene from the pilot of Lost

omg yes. That scene would be so awesome :D

What about a scene from Bewitched? Not the movie that Will Ferrill made. Blah.. As guests ride by the scene, Samantha's mother could turn her husband into some crazy elephant or something.
That was one of my favorite shows as a kid.

If built similar to the GMR, I think you would want to start with the Honeymooners/I love Lucy/ Ed Sullivan. From Ed got to Mickey Mouse Club, and Seasame Street. Then maybe Happy Days, Laugh In and MASH. From MASH, go to the news and how TV informed the people of world events in ways never before seen, shaping the opinions of a generation. Then show a Sportcenter Desk, and how cable in general changed everything. Next is the Hey Day of Sit Coms. I would prefer Cheers>>>Cosby>>>Friends/Sienfield, but would settle for ABC's Full house and other TGIF's, since this is Disney. Next, would be some representation of the modern talk show and Reality TV. You could finish with a video montage as is now, but better would be to go through an actual, working, functional TV set for a current program recording at "Disney Studios". Something simple ala" Who's Line?".

Since this will take guest on a serious nostalgia trip through their childhood, PACK the gift shop with items like Happy Days boardgame, Lunch boxes, etc.

I would LOVE the golden girls scene. I used to watch it all the time with my Mom when I was much younger. It wasn't til years later I got all the jokes on the show!!

LOL I know what you mean. When I was a kid I was like, "What are these old ladies talking about?"
-20 years later-
"OHHhhhh.... ew..."

What about Lassie? Would a scene from that show be interesting enough for this ride?

The last scene of the ride should take you through a diner in Jersey. At which point the ride will pretend to break down and you are ushered off the ride vehicle and through an emergency door.

Fun ideas.

Next door to the ride itself I would propose a restaurant with different rooms of famous tv sets. The Cheers bar. Central Perk from Friends. Fonzy's bar from Happy Days.

Hmmm...all comedy. Well it's a genre that thrives on limited locations.
Maybe it can be the 'bar' counterpart to 50s Prime Time. Instead of eating, you grab a beer at the Cheers bar where you are treated to Norm-isms by the local postal worker.

I'm guessing a scene with Walter White cooking meth representing Breaking Bad is out of the question?

Seriously though, I think this would be awesome. There's a great history of television thats not really represented at Hollywood Studios.

The finale scene could be Archie Bunker from All In The Family making ethnic slurs about passengers on the ride tram.

A 'Married with Children' scene would be good with Al Bundy sat looking miserable with his hand in his pants as Peggy does her little trot around the living room. Kelly Bundy in the background wearing her mini skirt.

A few others, Moonlighting, Charlies Angels, The A Team (building a tank from a Cheerios box), Knight Rider, The Incredible Hulk, Magnum P.I., Airwolf, The Littlest Hobo, Hart to Hart, Buck Rogers in the Twentieth Century and Battlestar Galactica.

I remember TGIF's and I also remember the Saturdays (cartoons). What were they called?
