The Great Disney Animation Ride:
So I was commenting on a thread about The Great Movie Ride how maybe there should be a section for animation, but then I had an idea. An animation movie ride shouldn't be limited to a show scene it should have it's own ride in the Animation Courtyard! This could bring a family ride to the studio because they don't have many of rides that everybody will enjoy. The Great Disney Animation Ride would be about the great movies/history of the Walt Disney Animation Studios. This would be a KUKA arm technology ride through the wonder of animation, it will be a fun small-thrill but NOT a puke your guts out like in Universal. The ride would have your skipper, Roger Rabbit (or some other cartoon character), narrating you through the great animation scenes.
So here are the show scenes:
1. Steamboat Willie - The scenes will be in black and white and you will occasionally sway as if you're on a boat
2. The Birth of Color Cartoons - As you enter this show scene everything will light up and turn into colors in a beautiful way. This section would include shorts with the fab 5 (Mickey, Donald, Pluto, Goofy, Minnie)
3. Snow White - The first ever feature animated film will be appreciated here in the "Heigh-Ho" scene of the film.
4. Fantasia - The fantasia sequence would have the sorcerer's apprentice and your KUKA arm would be jumping to the beat of the classic song.
5. The Jungle Book - A show scene from the song "I Wanna Be Like You"
6. Cinderella - See the Bibbidi Boppidi Boo song
7. Who Framed Roger Rabbit? - The first ever feature film with animation and live-action
8. Aladdin - You fly through Agrabah in "A Whole New World" with Aladdin and Jasmine right beside you.
9. The Nightmare Before Christmas - The "This is Halloween" scene/song
10. The Lion King - See the fantastic color and wonderful animals in "I Just Can't Wait To Be King"
11. Tangled - See the floating lanterns
12. Wreck It Ralph - Assuming that it does good we can put a memorable scene from the film
I think the Kuka arm technology is a must for this ride because it's not going to spin your head off but it'll give a sensation of flying or being on a rocking boat or being in the middle of a flash mob and it really captures the 'cartooniness' of these films. And I know Nightmare Before Christmas isn't by WDAS.
So what do you think?
