Hey guys! Just letting everyone know that on my most recent trip to the ol' WDW, my girlfriend and I stayed at the Galleria Palms Resort [formally the Meridian], and it was great for the price! If you are like me and don't really spend much time in the hotel and don't care too much for the amenities, this is a great place. It took about 4 minutes to get from the hotel to the Ticket and Transportation Center's parking. Plus the rooms average about $50 per night. Just wanted to pass this one along!

That place looks great from the website. And $50 a night is exactly what my fiance and I wanted to spend on our resort next year.

Can you tell me anymore about the place? How was the free breakfast, the pool, surrounding restaurants etc.?

Thanks for the great tip!

The free breakfast was decent, but nothing extravagant. It consisted of eggs, sausage, muffins, yogurt, bananas, apples, coffee, hot tea, and some juices. Not bad at all for a $50 hotel, but nothing out of this world. They pool is on the side of the hotel, and was very small. We didn't find time to go swimming during our stay, but there was a good number of people who did. As far as surrounding restaurants, I can't remember too many because we drove into Disney property to eat, but I know there was a Sizzler directly across the street, a T.G.I. Friday's and a Houlihan's.

The best thing about the hotel is that it is extremely close to the property, a great price, and the hotel just went through a major refurb, providing excellent rooms. They even contain mini fridges so you could bring some food and keep it in the room.

Awesome, that sounds great!

One last question: I was searching tripadvisor.com and other review sites, and some people say the breakfast is free, while others say you have to pay for it when you check in, if you want it.

So is it really free? if not, what does it cost?

Thanks again for the great tip

My wife and I stayed at the Galleria Palms in October 2007. At that time the breakfast was free. It was also quite good.:slurp: I only suggest getting down there before 8am. The dining area is pretty small. We were always down around 7:30 am and had no problems at all, but heard from others that around 8 or 9 o'clock, the place fills up and they tend to run out of some items. We absolutely loved the hotel. If we weren't headed down with another couple this year, my wife and I would have returned. The location is perfect, only minutes away from the parks. To give you an idea of how close, we were able to see the Tree of Life from our window. Hope you enjoy your stay!:)

As bobjl527 said, it's free. At least it was when I was there two weeks ago.
