Hey ya'll. Very stoked for The Imaginarium to start up and for it to kick start a marathon of bold new competitions for this community. I'm really looking forward to seeing all the different styles of gameplay, prompts, and presentation styles that can come out of these games and just how engaged this community still is. As someone who lived through the internet fandom migration from forums to larger social media platforms through the early 2000s into current day I can say with experience that the fact we have such a thriving forum-based community is nothing short of astonishing.

I decided to start this thread as a general "Hub" of sorts for my projects, rather they be based on the podcast or otherwise. The first thing I want to announce is that So, You Want to be an Imagineer Season 20 has been locked in for Summer 2023. I'm very excited about this date as it gives me an ample amount of time to plan stuff out as well as giving the community a chance to grow and prosper even more than it already has. I can promise you that once Summer 2023 comes, Season 20 will be the most polished, immersive, epic game I've ever put on. If you are interested in coming on as a potential co-host/co-producer on SYWTBAI20 feel free to reach out as there's more than enough time to get in on the ground floor with that.

The other announcement I want to make is some VERY early plans to expand the Imagineering strategy game format out to a larger audience. I've been having a lot of chats with the host/producer of the reality web series "Prometheus" which just started airing and I am part of the cast of. To say he has flattering things to say about these games and thinks there's potential outside of the forum is honestly a bit of an understatement. He's dealing with a lot with the rollout of Prometheus right now, but it's safe to say we WILL be working together to deliver a strategic Imagineering competition hosted outside of the game and casting a far wider demographic of people. As of right now my current goal is for said game to in fact be the the "1986" follow-up "The Year 2000...", but that will depend on what Casey and I come up with in future brainstorming as I know he's a bit more inclined for a fresh start with the format. All of you are more than welcome to sign up for this game whenever it happens but it's probably safe to assume there will be a live "in person" element to the gameplay most likely over Zoom, so be aware of that.

Lastly this thread will be the place where I'll be posting each episode of "Prometheus" as it drops, as I don't want to keep clogging up the Madcap Circus thread with that. If you haven't checked it out already, "Prometheus" is an insanely well produced and edited series that I'm super proud to be a part of. You can check out the first two episodes below.

Alright, real talk. Is the text spilling out onto the last line like this for one or two words the bane of anyone else's existence on here from an OCD point of view. I can't tell you how much time I've wasted trying to correct it when writing out projects haha.

Wow, very exciting! I was going to post part of this yesterday but now I know it’s in the works! Honestly, I found the first 2 Prometheus games (a maze and a short video task) a little underwhelming. I know our games on here are really involved (months long, big projects), so those specifically might not be the most transferable. However, something like a 1 sentence Competition could! And if it was focused on Disney and/or Universal parks, there could be interest from outside this forum.

I don't want to spoil exactly what the next Prometheus challenge is, but I can say it's definitely going to be the most "photogenic" one so far and was very memorable to compete in. And to be fair the challenges are not the main part of Prometheus, the social strategy is. I look at games like Survivor as a sort of inverse of So, You Want to be an Imagineer whereas with my game and most others like it the emphasis is way more on the actual challenges with a dash of social strategy thrown in for good measure, Prometheus/Survivor is pretty much all social strategy with the challenges just being the factor the determines immunity from round to round.

So the Survey Challenge…I’m familiar with it from The Mole, but they probably do it with Survivor. It’s a pretty fair way to give out a couple of immunities. Tiki, how do you think you would have done on it?
