Theming wise? The Flying Dinosaur. The name might be cheesy (Velocicoaster is not that much better tho), but it fits the theme. Velociraptors don’t run +40 meters into the air, but Pterosaurs do fly.

Sorry if I misunderstood but the theme for Velocicoaster isn’t that you are the raptor but the raptors are chasing you (they have a scene of the raptors chasing the car out of the pen during the second launch), unlike Flying Dinosaur which you are picked up by the Pterosaurs.

I choose Velocicoaster. While FD is the best flying coaster out there from what I hear, Velocicoaster seems to be a top ten on everyone’s list. I also HATE what FD has done to the park as it wasn’t implicated into the land nicely whereas Velocicoaster looks like it’s been there forever. It’s one of the most beautiful outdoor coasters in the world.

The theme of Velocicoaster is that Jurassic World, known for very bad ideas (unlike Jurassic Park which was smarter but didn't account for Chaos Theory), has decided to build a state of the art rollercoaster inside the raptor containment so you can experience "running" with them. Surprisingly, nothing goes wrong.

I haven't been on The Flying Dinosaur, and it looks like a really good B&M Flyer. However, Velocicoaster is definitely more unique. I also agree that Velocicoaster looks very natural in its placement whereas Flying Dinosaur was placed over the walkways and such.

Oh my bad then. Based on what Tom Morrows says the story does make sense, although it does seem lazy to call a rollercoaster a rollercoaster. It just feels more natural to have a flying coaster going over the area and make the story about people being/getting pickedup along with a flying dinosaur. They both look very natural integrated into the area, but I especially like FD because it flies around and over the area instead of VC which is on the side of the land with the paths winding around it. That makes it more unique than VC imo.

Does it change your enjoyment of the roller coaster any amount if they handwave the existence of visible track by saying you're riding a dinosaur or something?

All I care about is does it look nice and look like it fits? Rockit is an example of a coaster that looks like trash and doesn't fit, but Velocicoaster fits.

Velocicoaster sounds exactly like something the management idiots at Jurassic World think would be a good idea. Which leads to the wonderful Claire/Owen scene in the pre-show. :D
