The Farming City of Olando

When they were buying land and building WDW, most of the reports tell of an Orlando that we can only imagine! They described Orlando as a 'sleepy farming town'...we all know of the Orlando of the present, but I would love to see pics of what Orlando, the city, looked like BEFORE Disney...does anyone have any pics that they could post or know of anywhere in Orlando, like a Museum, to go and see Orlando of Yesteryear?

Not much reason to take a picture of a "sleepy Florida farming town". Drive down to Wachula or Zolfo Springs if you want a trip back in time.

The Osceola County Pioneer Museum has a lot of info about the history of the area.

It looked a lot like any other sleepy southern town did at the time. We went to the Orange county history center a couple years ago. The history is that of most other southern towns, outside of Disney, I've heard it would be comparable to Tallahassee.
