Well ive seen this hotel since I was like in 3rd grade I always knew it was there but never really stayed there or anything, anyways I found out that my Dad is possibley moving one of our vactions from Feb 2007 to Aug 2006, so thats pretty cool, sooner the better, anyways we have been looking for some more cheaper hotels and I came across the Double Tree in Downtown Disney, I looked it up on Expedia and it looks good with price of $109 a night, be aware we have 5 people in our family coming, anyways it looks good and I need your feedback on this hotel, I know my dad sorta liked it but wasnt entirely liking the Double Tree he was complaining about it being right next to the highway and stuff, I really wanna stay there is there anything I can tell him good about the place to change his mind? Aslo like I said before give me your feedback on the hotel, I would prefer if you stayed there before if you respond but I dont care. Also make suggestions for other hotels suitable for 5 people.

 Hi. we stayed at the Doubletree one night while waiting to check into our disney hotel. we were not impressed. the couch bed in the living room was awful. No sleep. we thought it would look a lot neater in the hotel and it was dark and kinda dreary. wouldnt stay there again. hope this helps. :D

All I know is that hotel is as old as the hills and before I'd even consider staying there, I would want to find out when the last time the rooms were rehabbed. I'm very fussy about my rooms, so all I can say is that I wouldn't consider it since the hotel reminds me of those cheezy hotels on I-drive.

There is a Hilton hotel right on Hotel drive which is actually in walking distance to the marketplace. I know my cousin stayed there and said it was very nice and she paid $105 a night through travelocity when she went. Also the Hilton has extra magic hour entitlements. The Swan & Dolphin also offer good rates (www.mousesavers.com) and have emh entitlements too and do accommodate 5pp. and you can walk to Epcot from these two hotels.

I stayed there July '03 for two nights and liked it a lot!! It was such a sort trip that I barely spent any time at the hotel. I don't think that we even saw the pool let alone went swimming... but I can say that the rooms are great, comfy and clean! and you get a free cookie when you check in... As for your concern, or father's concern about it being too close to the highway, it didn't bother us at all. It truly wasn't noisy. I remember walking to a gas station on SR 535 and buying cheap snacks...a perk to staying on the edge of property!!
