Wow, today was cool. I was participating in a Barbershop Singing festival for students today (actually I was a chaperone for my mom), but the Dapper Dans from Main Street USA were there. Anyway, I started talking to Aaron (the baritone) and mentioned that I had done some barbershop singing in the past and ended up getting invited to sing with them (again... ). I ended up singing the bass part of Coney Island Baby with them, and impressed a lot of people (go me :D). I even got invited to sing with them again in the park one day.

All of you guys out there who do do barbershop, you can sing with them when you are in the park. Go by the barbershop and ask. Afterwards, you get an 'Honorary Dapper Dan' card as a memento. If this thread doesn't disappear I will post a pic once they get developed.

I am on one of those highs right now..... sorry..... :D

Way to go Kicker! :sohappy: I'm so proud!

I'm sure you must have a great voice to sing with them. I love a man who can sing. I sing myself... we could make music sometime! HaHa! :D

Actually, I do know Lida Rose... part of it at least.

I kinda learned it when our school did The Music Man last year.

"Lida Rose, I'm home again Rose about a thousand kisses shy."

Yep...

And I got pictures... the order is, from left to right, Aaron (bari), Me (bass), Steve (lead) and Chris (tenor). Keith, the real bass, is not pictured because I kicked him out for the time being :D.

Nope, they arent in costume. It was a seminar-type thing, not Main Street.

That is so awsome you sing with a quartet. I am going to try and get a group together after I get through bct. Maybe while I am in... I just know I would love to get an army quartet together.

Hey kicker, you brought back a lot of great memories!! I sang concert choir at Winona st. in MN. We had a lot of fun after practice singing. My kids laugh when I sing now, my wife scolds them and tells them how it used to be for me and the love for singing. I'm happy you got to sing with the Dapper's!! Thanks for the picture also.
