The correct number of days for my park hopper plus tickets?

I am going to Disney World for the first time this July with my family for a 10 day / 9 night stay.

We plan to spend 2 days in Magic Kingdom and 1 day each in Epcot, HS, and AK (so 5 days in the theme parks). We also wanted to do the water parks but that is going to be on two separate days where do not go to any theme parks? (we are doing Disney Springs and Hoop De Doo revue in the evening on those days).

How many days do I need on my Park Hopper Plus ticket? I was under the impression that I had to factor the water park days in my park hopper # of days but it seems like those are extras and I do not need to do that. Is this correct? Should I give myself an extra day or two on the park hopper in case weather changes our plans or we change our minds and decide to go back to a park on another day?

Water parks to not count against your park days making a 5 day ticket adequate for your trip.

Should your plans change, you can always add park days onto your ticket for the same prices as long as you have one park day left on your ticket.

Just be aware that with the new date-based tickets, they are not automatically valid for the 14 days. I think for a 5 day ticket it will only be valid for 7 or 8 days, unless you pay the “flexible premium” to extend the validity of the tickets to 14 days.

If the tickets are part of a package, they will be good for the length of your stay.

With Park Hopper Plus, you get a number of "plus visits" equal to the number of days on your ticket. So, for example, if you have a 5 day ticket, you also get 5 plus visits, which can be used at either of the water parks as well as some other locations like the miniature golf courses.

In your case, you could get a 5 day Park Hopper Plus ticket. That would cover your 5 theme park days and also give you 5 plus visits in addition to that. So you could use a plus visit on each of your two water park days. In fact, you'd still have 3 plus visits left over, so if you wanted to grab a round of mini golf as well, you could do that.

And as @nickys mentioned, just be aware of the dates your tickets are good for.

So wait, if you have a 5 night park hopper plus, you can visit parks for 5 days, and then waterparks and mini golf 5 other days and theybdont have to be days youbwere at the parks. This i kinda like!

Yep. It has been like that way with the water parks and more options they have had for years.

The only catch is you can't park hop from plus option to plus option. (eg TL in the morning and golf in the evening counts as two days)

Yes, but you need to make sure the tickets will be valid for that long. It used to be easy, now not so much!

Ok, but can you use 2 days up the same day or that is not allowed. For instance can i do BB then play a round at summerland for lunch?
