The business of show business

I just finished the book, "More Mouse Tales" by David Koenig. I realize he is trying to sell books, but in chapter 9, "The Business of Show Business" he compares Disney's position in the cost of maintenance and employee training versus maximizing profits. The image he creates in my mind is gloomy.
I would appreciate a response from a park employee (present or previous) that has also read this book.
