After browsing this site since I joined I have heard a lot about the Boardwalk. I can't believe I have been to WDW twice and have never come across it. Where is it on the property???? and what is the best way to get there (using Disney transportation).

Thanks for any input!

sig,

The boardwalk is right outside of EPCOT if you go out the international gateway between France and England. I think it would be easier for you to just go to EPCOT and cut through (provided you have a hopper or multiple entry pass.) It has a lot of good entertainment and restaurant options, and makes for a nice break from EPCOT for a while - especially if you end up spending like three days there like I seem to every time I go! You can also walk to the boardwalk from MGM, although it is a bit longer of a walk - but it's by the waterway and is really kind of relaxing. Hope you have a great time!

You can also get there by driving to the Boardwalk hotel and parking in the guest lot, or by taking the boat from the MGM Studios. The Boardwalk also has one of the coolest restaurants in WDW -- the ESPN Club. That place literally has hundreds of tv sets, even in the bathrooms.

I agree with Galatic... great wings at the ESPN club.
Go to Beaches&Cream, it's an icecream parlor, located at the Beach Club and order the kitchen sink.
I think the Boardwalk will become one of your "must do's" for every vacation.

I'm a DVC member and Boardwalk Villas is my home resort. I can't tell you how cool it is to be able to walk out of Epcot or MGM and either walk or take a boat home. Then, once we're there we have so much to do. My favorite thing is to grab a beer from the Screendoor or Spoodles, sit out by the lake and watch the Friendships go by. My only beef was that there were no refillable mugs that allowed free refills (refills cost $.90). That has been changed and refills are now free. My dream come true! :)
If you can, I highly recommend staying in the Boardwalk area.
